Now I am confused. Has anyone decided to take up hosting yet?
It is still in Eren’s hands at the moment, but they are proposing to pass it off to someone else if we don’t want to wait for several months (again)
I have said I could do the hosting (basically if moroza says no I’ll do it) but I’d rather not because CW is fairly large and I wouldn’t want to mess it up for everyone. That being said, a challenge would be better than no challenge…
I’d take it, but I said I won’t host anything until ATC is done, and will honor that.
Looking at your ATC thread I assume that’s also not any time soon? If that’s the case I better look at how to run a CW challenge and think of some ideas

OTOH, all the reviews in a Cool Wall round combined aren’t as long as even one ATC review. I could do it, it just wouldn’t be fair to ATC entrants to not finish that first.
As long as you don’t start by ballsing up the scoring like I did it’s actually relatively quick to get the scored rounds out. You just put all the numbers in the sheet I found and it gives you the ranking and numbers as you go.
The hardest part is the premise and then the ranking all the entries by “cool points”
Now would probably be a good time for me to get that “rules and guidelines” thread out, huh. I’ve had it sitting half finished for a while, might as well get it all the way.
Sure, I do also have MLC20 running, but at least that also has it built into the premise that it’s supposed to take a while.
If nobody has shown intent to host CW8 by the time I’m available in a couple months, I will definitely take it. However, like I said, I do not think it’s fair for me to keep it for the time as I know I absolutely will not be able to host during the summer. So going in the finishing order, whoever wants to take CW8 is free and encouraged to do so, assuming everyone above decide not to. I may not be able to respond much after tomorrow, so whoever may or may not take up hosting has to be decided here between you all. I want to emphasize that I do not expect to have CW8 for me anymore and I am 100% willing for someone else to have it.

I am willing to pass off co-host duties to someone else, as i did offer to complete the writing myself.
I still have all the pictures/files (beautiful) that were sent by everyone. I can pass off all the files.
I feel horrible to all that have entered this challenge, and i hope this doesnt happen again in the future.
I know Moroza has been having issues as of late, i hope all becomes well.

I will host cw8 then so we can get something running, I need to get a proper cost calculator but the actual point comparison bits are done. I’ll put something up by the end of today with a week or so of rule deliberation. @Edsel the post you put up will be very useful so thanks for that.
The actual hosting part is much simpler than AGC which I did recently so hopefully there isn’t any delay with results this time

This is what I used for the scoring component. It still has all the data in from cw6.
Could I add a copy of that to the guide thread, actually? That’d be real handy to have for future reference.
