Desert Rush Hour - Egyptian Excursion

Desert Rush Hour

Hour 0:

Your task is to join either group in this war that has prevailed in the Middle East by providing vehicles, you have two side to choose from:
  • The GDF[GLOBAL DEFENSE FORCE] which is a group which bands many countries together to fight against issues that may spawn with intentions of destroying democracy and freedom. They hace done missions and operations all around the globe to sperad peace and support through their programs. They are a well funded group made of 50+ countries that wishes to support other countries in need of relief as they expand from North America, East Asia, and Western Europe. They believe that the Brotherhood is planning to do a devious plot to pass propaganda onto their believers to carry orders of terror to spread their reign over certain regions.

  • The Brotherhood’s Insurgency is a group that believes that the GDF are fraudulent in their words and only care about profits to control the citizen through a skewed way of living. The Brotherhood have carried out their own programs to spread their influence through regions of South America, North Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. Their beliefs is to unite the world under one rule: The Brotherhood’s rule, for them, God has given them a role in this world to rule. Their group is not as well equipped stemming most of their inventory from surplus military supplies from the regions they control.

You have the mission to choose who you will fight for

Lore of what's happening

The year is 2005, and there is a great conflict in Egypt of which the Nile River and Suez canal are being contested by both the GDF & the Brotherhood’s Insurgency. The Brotherhood’s Insurgency’s plan is to take over the Nile to make those who are reliant for it as a source of water to bend to the will of the Brotherhood. Their other plan is to take over the Suez canal so that they’ll have a stream of economic revenue including equipment that they could use and if they succeed, then all trade that happens through the Suez would only feed into the Brotherhood and cut off any economic ties to any country reliant on cargo ships.

The Brotherhood has deemed the capturing both the Nile river and Suez canal as a necessity to unveil their plan to become the “true ruler of the world”.

  • Goal of the Brotherhood’s Insurgency: Capture the Suez Canal & the Nile River

  • Goal of the GDF: Stop the Brotherhood’s Inurgency from capturing the two most valuable water bodies of Egypt.

Here are the two ruleset for each side in this war:

This reminds me of the Command and Conquer Tiberium trilogy, doesn’t it? (Tiberian Twilight doesn’t count.)

That is mostly what I’ve based this on, though it’s more like like Command & Conquer: Generals. Especially with the case being the GDF(basically the GDI but bigger) vs the Brotherhood’s Insurgency(The GLA)

I can see why you’d think it’s like Tib wars because of the relatedness of the the Brotherhood’s Insurgency with the Brotherhood of Kane.

Funny how this was uploaded just a few hours ago: The War Toyota Won - YouTube

Funnily enough, i was just thinking about that when making the rules for the Brotherhood’s Insurgency

So, do you guys want to do this?

(Please have a discussion about the rules or something)

  1. Do the vehicles need to look exactly as they would be used by the respective parties or can we display a base model that they can then equip for more specific needs? (A.K.A. how much work can I get away with not having to do?)

  2. I assume we have to pick one or the other, and we can’t be scheming capitalists and try to get contracts from both parties?

  3. On a scale of One to Djadania, how memeish are builds allowed to be?

  1. I would say that you should try to do as you can. It could come bone stock as a fleet vehicle or a heavily weaponized vehicle.

For the NATO group, try doing stuff like Hummers that could be configured and made to withstand the harshness of the Egyptian desert.

For the Insurgency, try doing things like LC70s l, Patrols, or Hiluxs. You could do away with arming them as they’re ordering in bulk fleet, though as provided, it may be preferred if the vehicles came with mounted MGs.

  1. Yeah, you got to pick 1 side of the war as this is scaled like Cold War in the environment of the Gulf War. [Though, you very much could do so if you can convince with a story as to why. So while it’s a no, with enough convincing with a story, I could allow you playing both sides.]

  2. Djadania

I don’t think using real countries is the greatest of ideas for this, that’s going to result in problems.

Well the Brotherhood isn’t a representative. The mandated flags for the GDF are just to cover which country the car came from

So uh, yeah, would anyone else be interested in this challenge?

I’ve read through the rules, just need some time for my brain to crank out an idea. No inspirations coming to mind at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll come up with something soon.

Naming convention?

Also, 100 MPH is very much extremely fast and I doubt any vehicle will be able to reach such speeds, at least for the insurgents with minimally modified heavy technicals. I believe the famous Chadian case drove at 100 KM/H over landmines.

[RECORDING], [UNDISCLOSED GARAGE]
GDF Intelligence Archives - 2005

“So this is what I was going to show you. It’s a 1964 VMS Mera.”
“There are ones in better condition, and there are ones that aren’t the first model year,”
“…but you won’t find these with an emplacement already on it for this price. That being 10,400 per vehicle, with the smuggling and anything else covered. And especially not with the 140-horsepower V8.”

“Now, these vehicles have seen their fair share of conflict. I believe this one was a farmhand for a couple of years before it was…reposessed by a local militia, who was then defeated by a rebel group, who used it as a mobile anti-armor unit.”

“Now the good thing is that this isn’t the only example I happen to have laying around, there are hundreds that me and my connections have gathered over the years. These things are bulletproof and can be worked on by toddlers, so they tend to fare well in the conditions you’re planning to use them for.”

“So, what’s it going to be? We’ll take the tags and identification off if you need. 10 grand a pop. Bargain in my books.”
