Dimension Motors - Back in Business!

Welcome back. I get why the V8’s bank angle is 60 degrees instead of 90 - it’s not as smooth, but it takes up less space.

Deskyx! Haven’t seen you in ages, great to see you back  Automation has advanced, and it seems you’re keeping up.

Dimension Relay (2005-2011)

A new generation of compact sedans and coupes for the new millenium. The Relay aims to fix the undesirable reputation of Dimension’s previous compact offerings with improved sporty styling, road manners and build quality.

Dimension Relay LS and GS

Following owner complaints of major rust problems on prior cars, the Relay now features an all new platform with improved rustproofing. Rust prone areas are galvanized and the whole exterior is made from treated steel. MacPherson struts up front and torsion bar rear provide a good compromise of trunk space and handling.

The Relay model range starts at the base model LS to the top of the line GS. The LS features a 2 liter LP20ME DOHC 16V engine producing 120hp and 174nm of torque, while the GS is equipped with the 2.3 liter LP23HE, with 154 hp and 225nm of torque. Both models feature the option of a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed automatic transmission.

Dimension Relay SSP

SSP model featured in Moray Red

By the mid 2000s, the sports compact wars have escalated from spritely fun to drive commuters into fire breathing turbocharged performance machines capable of outrunning sports and muscle cars. The Relay SSP ups the ante with its powerful 265 hp LP20TE turbocharged 2.0 engine and a wide host of handling upgrades courtesy of the SSP team to produce the ultimate sport compact.

SSP model featured in Celestial Yellow

Available only in the coupe body, the SSP’s changes start from the outside, with an aggressive body kit and adjustable rear spoiler. The car also rides an inch lower and new 18" 5 spoke wheels wrapped in 215mm wide Goodyear Eagle sports tires round out the new sporty look. Stiffer Koni shocks and dampers reduce body roll and improve agility. The SSP features nearly 2 degrees of camber up front from factory to improve agility and eliminate the understeer inherent in such a powerful FWD car. The interior is equipped to GS standards with the addition of exclusive Recaro bucket seats and a boost controller.

The LP20TE motor is based off the base model’s LP20ME, but with the addition of a Garrett turbocharger and front mount intercooler. Forged conrods are used to cope with the increased power and 6900 rpm redline, while larger injectors and a more aggressive fuel map aim to reduce turbo lag and improve throttle response. A strengthened 5 speed manual equipped with a Quaife limited slip differential as standard transmits power efficiently and safely. Rounding off the SSP package is a set of slotted discs front and rear from Stoptech for safe and consistent braking performance even in track conditions.
