I’ve posted this up previously on the Facebook page. Long story short:

-Automation previously would give me an error ‘Could not load file or assembly ‘Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.Version=1.0.2902.0. Culture=neutral. PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35’ or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.’

-Despite this, I could stil load and play the game.

-Now, when I tried updating for I6’s using the manual updater, it would attempt to update DirectX (I have DirectX 11, my computer is only a year old), and I would receive ‘internal system error’, it wouldn’t update at all.

-So I uninstalled Automation, deleted all files, and reinstalled. Now, I still receive the error when starting up Automation Launcher, but I can’t play now, as I can’t set any of the options when it asks for them (it appears blank).

-Whoever runs the Automation FB page sent me a link to a DirectX download, when I tried it out I still received the internal system error.

I really love Automation but it’s becoming more trouble than its worth… My computer handled it just fine when I first installed it, all the way up to the FP V8 update, on my gf’s computer it works but I have to run minimum quality/resolution, and on my desktop it won’t run due to not having the required PixelShader software on the video card.

At least I got time before the final game is released to figure it all out. haha

Sounds like something is corrupted in your directx/windows install (as the DirectX install is failing). As stated on Facebook, having Directx 11 Installed does not matter. Each version of Directx is seperate and distinct from the other. Automation cannot use DirectX 11, or 10, or the 25 other versions of DirectX 9 (Yes there are at least 26 versions of Directx9). Automation needs DirectX June 2010, as that is the version Automation is compiled to use.

A quick bit of googling brings up your issue, so it seems fairly common. Microsoft’s answer seems to be reinstall windows. Which is fairly extreme. One forum post found ClamAV (Antivirus) to be the culprit.

After about 30 mins looking into fixes, I am not comfortable giving a list of instructions of what to do. As multiple problems could be the culprit, and the instructions to solve the issues are quite complex. So I don’t want to be held liable if something goes badly wrong.

@amirebrahimi, the fix should work in al most all cases, DSMdude had the unfortunate issue of a corrupt dx install. With Microsoft’s official fix was to reinstall windows. :frowning:
