I’m also a fan of how angry Nissan VQs sound… this is a decent example of one; notably when he’s warming up the tires: youtube.com/watch?v=0j_Ajy3bWvE
I just LOVE these small, old school carb engines with angry cams. And to me it doesn’t get much better than the Alpine A110. youtube.com/watch?v=e9F1YDj … page#t=108
When I was a kid, my dad took me to watch world championship rallying. I was hooked ever since. And now, 20 years later, I can still hear one particular sound in my head. That of the 1985 Lancia 037. You could hear the beast from miles away and the supercharger whine made it sound SCARY when it was flying towards you at 200 km/h barely avoiding the pine trees. youtube.com/watch?v=CQYzWaI … lpage#t=30
It’s a replica and I’m not even sure if it’s an L72 or the ZL1. But it’s a '69 COPO 427 Camaro replica and the engine is the real deal, so is the exhaust system. My favourite muscle car of all time. The sound makes me shiver all over. youtube.com/watch?v=_uKyKYq … ilpage#t=6
Christ! When does that thing reach its goddamn redline??!
If there’s one thing I love about Group C cars, its the start-up noises. Always sounds like the Gods limbering up to do battle.
I love diesel sounds
It’s one of the things that I enjoy when I’m on a bus, and when I travel larger distances at night, a diesel engine sounds like lullaby for me.
But the sound that it’s stuck in my mind from when I was a child is the Detroit diesel. You could totally hear those engines like a kilometer away.
