Flame Spitting 2.5L 16V DOHC Turbo 400BHP+

Hello all,

I’m very new to this game but wanted to show this engine I have been working on for a couple of days. Id be grateful if any more experienced members could take a look and give me some tips

Benchmarking tells me I have valve float, but to remedy this would increase material costs and man hours way to much. The MTBF isn’t that bad anyway.

EDIT: Also got a Car design to go with this. Very BMW/Lexus inspired?

Nice car! I really like the way it looks.
That turbo however looks waaaay to big for that engine. It doesn’t really spool up at all :stuck_out_tongue:
I tweaked your engine a little to make the power a bit more usable.
It has the same peak hp but much higher torque and a much wider and more usable powerband.
It’s also slightly more economical

Hope this helped a little. It’s by no means perfect (I don’t claim to be an expert or anything  ). This is just how I would set up the turbo for this engine

Here’s my pass at it. I took the liberty of adding direct injection and variable valve lift since it seemed appropriate, and overall costs are still pretty reasonable. I pushed the power envelope a little higher which lowers the MTBF, but you can detune it to suit your preferred reliability and fuel economy. I also resolved the valve float issue.
