Formula Automation - 1975 -> Round 1

Do R&D costs count for the first season?
finally i have a few questions sent to me vie PM:
These $50 000 are for 1 car or 2 (like real F1 teams)?
The quality slides are 0 or i buy them (with some wins or rules), Lap times will be flat(as are in game) or there will be some random factor?
Do i have limit on Production units?
Cars with turbo will race together with N/A ?

P.S.
Can i ask you (i am new here  ) is there a way to change engine for saved car and how ?
Q1: Only 1 car, because with the current system there won’t be a difference in time, so it wouldn’t make any sense to run 2 cars.

Q2: You can use the quality sliders as you like, as long as you can effort the high production units.

Q3: There will be now random factors for now. The only that is not in the game are pit stops, as (hopefully good enough) explained in the opnening post.

Q4: No.

Q5: Yes.

Q6: Maybe someone else could answer this because i don’t really have an idea what you mean.

Q6: It sounds like the user is asking how to change motors in a car which has already been saved. On the Drivetrain Tab in the last section of the car designer, there is a button labeled “Choose Engine” which will allow you to choose another saved motor, build a new motor, or revise a saved motor. For a visual explanation, see picture below.

So, hopefully i answered every question understandable. Please keep asking questions in order to make it easier to understand for you and everyone else involved.

You can get this beauty for the mere price of 8200$

372hp@8100rpm
345nm@6900rpm
economy 15.17%
weight 167.5 kg
reliability: 28.7

I’ll be entering as a manufacturer using the exact same engine.

Manufacturer name: Gemina
Model: Gemina fA
Engine: Gemina 30C1

Prato Motor Company has sold a level 3 kit to applepi66 for $7000.00

Obscure Motorsports is proud to announce their entry in the 1975 Formula Automation competition!

OM-R’s racecraft will be powered by Prato Motor Company. More details to come.

Good luck to all the other competitors!

So, the deadline is passed but we have a problem:
We only have 3 cars entered into this series by now(only 2 already sent the files).
So i will set a new deadline on the the 16th of december. Than we will start of, hopefully with more cars entered.

Thanks for the new deadline.

My car is almost finished; I’m just tweaking the suspension for the various circuits.

I’m sure this championship will catch eventually. it’s a great idea. We just need to get it started.

Ok, the deadline has passed and we have 2 raceable cars entered.

I will start the series off today, but with no reliability rule applied becuase it would be too easy to see none of the cars even finish a race.

Round 1: Grand Prix of China

So here we are with the first qualifying of this series:

 1. RaduST - Gemina Works Team - 2:24.61 (3 points)
 2. Dan Kolov - Bulgar Motors - 2:35.99 (2 points)

Race

 1. RaduST - Gemina Works Team - 2:10:48.97 (9 points)
 2. Dan Kolov - Bulgar Motors - 2:20:30.46 (6 points)

Championship

 1. Gemina Works Team 12 points
 2. Bulgar Motors 8 points

Ok, sorry for the double post.
I’ll let the entries open for everyone who wants to join in because this can only add to the fun of this series. You can join whenever you like, but you will of course only be able to take part in the races which are not done yet.

“I will start the series off today, but with no reliability rule applied becuase it would be too easy to see none of the cars even finish a race.”
“Car reliability will be used to determine if a car finishes the race or not. This means reliability is very important because to finish first, first you have to finish

Can you please explain how exactly you intended to use the reliability score in all this? I know you said it will count, but you didn’t stated the rules. Is there a formula you use? Were we supposed to design cars with a certain minimum reliability? If you make this clear I will design a car that falls within the rules for the next season.

I’d would have been pretty straight forward: take the avg. reliability of your car and this is your chance to finish the race.
There is no minimum reliability and your car is perfectly within the rules.

Thanks for joining. I’ll send a message to you if something is wrong with your car.

Again a double post…
This is very important now: from the second race onwards, the reliability rule will be in place, as originally intended. Without this, the races become pretty boring and the championship too.
Sorry for the confusion…

Could I recommend giving the reliability stat a boost of at least 25% , up to a maximum of 99? Otherwise there’s going to be a lot more cars in the pit than on the podium.
