Based on the amount of time, effort, energy, and work they’ve put into the game thus far, I think that alone speaks volumes about their commitment to seeing this game to completion. In the end, you have to balance risk vs. reward. There’s still a free demo available if you’re not comfortable pre-ordering yet. As for me, I see the potential this game has and I’m excited about the possibilities. I also see how passionate the developers and the testers are at making Automation what it is – a significant improvement on a genre that has, until this point, only produced medicore games (at best!).
That’s why I pre-ordered. I think it’s worth the risk.
I use the Engine Designer Demo too Looks nice and so on.
But the Developers can always say you have paid for an Demo with extra Features… You got it… Now the development is closed. There is nothing new. So i paid for something like an Demo Version but there will never be an final Version with these Features i have paid for.
This Project does not have Versions like older Games or Versions of it . This Demo is the first Version of it. So i cant say i paid but get an older product. There is nothing like an older Version or so of this product. Because this is only an Demo Version with an small Part of the Final version.
So where i get an guarantee that the Program is finished?
How can there ever be a guarantee that it gets done? Just like Slim Jim said, we are 100% committed, but that doesn’t 100% guarantee that the game gets done if you think about it realistically, because shit happens!
If you feel uncomfortable preordering, then don’t there is a demo for that purpose, and we can’t (and wouldn’t want to) force people to put their trust into a yet unfinished product. Every preorder of course makes it slightly more probably that the full game will see the light of day though.
This is something we’ve all quit our jobs to spend 100% of our working hours on and are totally committed to completing. I think its very unlikly that we won’t finish, but frankly its always possible something could go wrong. We can’t offer any guarantee, so if its not worth the risk to you I’d say you’d be best to wait until we’re finished then buy it. However if you do preorder you will get a lot of content along the way as we finish it, and there are already many many hours worth of gameplay
