So I went to work and I parked next to a fellow mercedes owner

That’s when I realized, what does their Merc have that my merc doesn’t have?

The answer was a chromed grille.

So I painted my grille in the rain using metallic silver rim paint. It was as close to chrome as I could get it. And much to my surprise, it actually doesn’t look all that bad.

I did somehow manage to lose the emblem I had, not sure where I put it. However what matter the most is that I have a Mercedes and you don’t. I am such a wealthy millionaire Mercedes man. Chrome, guys. Chrome. Millionaire.

nevermind found it

That explains why installing the grille was such a pain in the assholes.

Painted it so it matches the grille :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

What is its value now with these luxury modifications?

When I was installing the badges with a friend, I told her “This will double the value of this car, bringing it to 18€” so I’m gonna stick with that.

Now this doesn’t sound like lifter tick anymore.

I had a brief argument with a friend on whether or not that’s lifter tick. She insisted it is. I disagreed. So we remove the valve cover, the 1.4 has hydraulic lifters. So we dig a little deeper, there’s teeny weeny small tiny metal shavings swimming in the oil! So we changed the oil, installed a new valve cover gasket and if this lasts for 3 months I’m gonna be surprised.

However! There are some good news as well.

The P140 is getting a new grille! I still need to cut the bumper and all that fun jazz.

the grille like this makes the car look like an 80’s dodge or something

So this is the Daimler-Chrysler P140 by Seat then, I guess.

I can definitely see that now that you mention it.

in approximately 3 months when you’ll probably get a new car I’m putting my bet on a Fiat Bravo with BMW kidneys to follow up the P140, call it the BMW ½-series

Give it new black rims (take of the hubcaps)

The BMW M0.48i

Bumper has been cut, new grille has been zip tied in place.
