Go ahead Mr. Cat
Now, I want people to know that I have the 1.4L 60hp version, instead of the 1.4 54hp. So I had to add speed to my car!
Now it goes really fast!
Other work I’ve done is the high quality rust removal.
It looks like it’s brand new!
I also found this glory hole in my drivers door. I think I’ll hammer it straight at some point.

I was driving downtown with my Volkswagen Polo RS when a bunch of teens yelled “REV IT!!”
I gave it some revs and yelled back to them “That’s what 1.4 petrol sounds like!” They started laughing like it was the funniest shit ever or something.
The racing stripes work as intended.
1.4 litre racing cars surely are fun
Absolutely! I decided to check the 0-100km/h on a flat highway on-ramp, here it is.
Ignore the rap blaring in the background, rather than the video having the sound from the car, it took the sound from the phone. My phone was playing music to the car through an FM transmitter
Either way, the 0-100km/h time of this 60hp wagon that feels peppy compared to the Twingo is whopping 17 seconds! However I tested it before I added the racing stripes, I might have to do it again to see if they added any speed.
The speed limit was 100, not sure what Waze was on about with that 80km/h limit.
Supercar level acceleration
That tow hitch saved it’s whole car. What a hero!
At least my insurance won’t be going up. Will try to see if the bumper can be salvaged. At the very least I need new hood latch. The headlights also cracked, they’re glass. Will have to see how much new headlights cost.
Since this is basically a Seat with VW badges, make sure to get the correct headlights and not Polo hatchback units
Good call. Do you know if a Polo hatchback front bumper fits the wagon? The wagons are a bit hard to find.
I am afraid it won’t. But I am pretty sure that the Caddy and Polo sedan front end is identical, and unless there were some changes in the wolfsburgification, Seat Ibiza, Inca and Cordoba bumpers should probably fit. The only genuine VW design of this generation is the Polo hatch where all cosmetical parts are different. Rest of the range were badge engineered Seats.
And one Škoda (Caddy pickup) ![]()
As Knugcab said, Polo hatchback has a different front portion, but 1996-99 Ibiza, Cordoba, Cordoba Vario and Caddy/Inca parts should fit
I was today years old when I realized they aren’t all just the same with different bodystyles
I feel bad for the guy who made that “hole“ in the drivers side door.
It’s pretty common in cold climates, you will have snow that melts, the water will accumulate there, then it gets colder, the water freezes and when you open the door you will have an unforgiving chunk of ice there, denting the door. I don’t know about Polos, but the Mk5 Golf was notorious at getting dented there for that reason.
Great news! My Polo now identifies as a BMW!
Around four liters of oil has vanished.
And the car still looks like ass.
Questions?
Yes, I have questions. Were is the oil going? On the ground or out the tailpipe? And will you be fixing this issue?
