Honda Civic Challenge [Race Results In! Vote are in!}

Wow 3rd! I didn’t expect so much, and that result is brilliant for a first challenge. But clearly need more power… 1:24.9 :open_mouth:

With my car, the parents would be calmed.

Here’s my model file if anyone is interested, no ricer can resist popping the hood after :slight_smile: Can’t believe I actually won! Great contest NP. Now for the beauty pageant which I doubt I’ll win, I’ll just be over here doing victory lunch tray drifts and burnouts till I blow a half shaft.

Sweet as. I just realised that I misread this rule:

I thought that meant 0.1mm so I didn’t bore it out as much as I could have! This being said it would have meant a lot more other tuning and just boring out the engine doesn’t actually make my car any faster in itself. Still amazed that Niall got the car around the track so fast!

I posted both units of measurement to try and make it easy reading for both metric and standard users. An extra 0.9mm increased bore would have snuck ya in some more power, but hey you already threw down the highest hp car in the tourney :wink: so kudos in doing it with a slightly smaller engine

Nah, actually niall had more power. The extra bore would have meant a little more room to play with the turbo… and the big secret of niall’s turbo was actually a lower AR ratio. I normally just bang mine right up to 1.40 but as I’m now starting to learn, that’s not always the best place for it in terms of max power and more importantly, a good power band.

Where I really lost out in the last quarter of a second was that I forgot to adjust the tyre profile LOL. I can’t believe I forgot to do that, it’s like the most important thing once you know you’ve got enough power.

The turbo was a pain to get right, getting 300hp took about 30 minutes, I think I was tweaking the motor, final gear and suspension for the better part of an hour to balance everything after that.

My bad, i knew both of you broke 300 just mixed up who had which

Considering I’ve got the heaviest car of the bunch and the third worst power-to-weight ratio I’m more than pleased by fourth place. Definitely looking forward to the poll results, too!

They’ll choke on the petrol fumes of my overboosted D13B2 next! What nobody knew until now is that the car couldn’t even manage 24L/100km :laughing:
