Hot Lap Challenge HLC round 7: wnb V8 SUPERCARS 15.11.2016, 12.00 (noon) CET

@one85db your entrant looks sweet, I knew you had it in you! :sunglasses:

Congrats @AirJordan for the win and @nialloftara for a stylish and well deserved captains pick!

Congratulations to the three podium finishers! I was never going to doubt that the Wolf (by @AirJordan) was the strongest opposition, though, and it showed. Also, I am sure I should have gone further with the engine - mechanical injection and/or SOHC heads could have been worth the extra cost, but I chose not to use either for reliability’s sake.

And now I am waiting for the next round to commence… and its rules to be announced.

Not bad. A bit off the pace but not too much.

I will admit to not actually testing the cars on any of the tracks before submission. I just assumed that lightness would be preferable to power to a degree hence DAOHC and not SOHC. I also just ran with the first body I picked because it looked good lol.

:fireworks: Very pleased with my second place! Muscle looks, the most powerful legal engine and the fastest around the speedway.

Well, it’s not bad, but on my computer my competitive score on muscle was 100.4

What was the total placings?

It seems like @Darkshine5’s challenges suit me
I tuned my car at ATT. I don’t even have other tracks yet. I’ll come up with something new in a day

Congrats to others, especially design wise!

lol yes you seam to win alot. But you just kill these comps. a hole second faster than second place is really good especially considering more speed is capable from your machine.
The simple answer is lightness is key not power and one click on suspension tuning can mean the difference.

The other amazing thing about this is the DRC is designed so that if the cars are with 1 second of each other any body can win due to the random number system used and you still have what 5 wins there now and one here?

Hmm… now I see. Lightness is everything. DCOE Carbs and DAOHC

I think I’m just the most abusive with the rules. Especially in DRC I got the feeling (now less and the rules are becoming stricter) people were building realistic(ish) cars that are also fast while I was constantly building as-close-to-the-limit-as-possible cars with a mild resemblance of reality.

Well as I see it those old hot rods really liked wide open race tracks, so I’ll say let them run free and wide open on Diablo and QLD raceways, but let’s really test how well they are constructed by throwing Laguna seca and the infamous corkscrew at the for track number 3.
