I designed an engine!

Much excite! You mean the headers are in print now? Or will the block and internals be printed again?

Everything is being printed.

The supercharger is done and to my joy, and slight surprise, it actually works as a supercharger. I wasnā€™t sure if it would actually be effective considering the fact that the tolerances I used were quite large, but if you spin it you can actually feel a slight breeze come out of it. Unfortunately I donā€™t have pictures currently although I will try to get some in the next few days.

now to hook up a small electric motor.

mind if i recommend the small but quite powerful motors that came out of the mini 4WD cars

these small guys

the specs

Input voltage: 2.4-3.0V
Torque at recommended load:
1.6-2.0mN-m
RPM: 12,300-14,700
Current consumption: 1.7-2.0A

from here
www.tamiya.com/english/products/15484_15489/index.htm

that is if you want to make it run on itā€™s own and not from a drill

I could just take one of the motors out of my rc car if i wanted which would have more power and higher rpm.

When usernames become relevantā€¦:joy:

Look the 3D printed V8 2 video (in the first message), and listen the 3 first seconds: it works with mariachis? It sounds ā€œayyyā€ with mexican accent lol.

Good engine.

p.s. If you would a more complex engine, I have a DOHC v-twin, and Iā€™m making a v12 in Solidworks.

The complexity of mine is limited mostly by the printer to make sure everything fits in it and doesnt end up being made super tiny. If I wanted to I think I couldā€™ve done something more complex than this.

You can follow this channels to make engines.

I learnt looking tutorials like this one.

Ok the engine is nearing completion now. I had a slight delay trying to get the cam and valves to work as with the original camshaft it would bend the valve stem rather than push the valve down. I have now gotten it to work by making the cam use 180Ā° duration. I just have a few more pieces to print now and then itā€™ll pretty much be done.

The engine has been mostly done for a little while now, unfortunately I havenā€™t gotten pictures (mostly because I donā€™t want to use my terrible phone camera) but all it needs now is chain and sprocket to connect everything up.

This has been my most recent project

Itā€™s a replica of a sword from Monster Hunter that I will be entering in a global 3D printing competition.

Heres the finished version of that sword and shield for the monster hunter competition, now I just have to wait until march 7th to see if I won.

Letā€™s see some of those pictures and such, chap. If you can print it fast enough, you could possibly mail some people copies or sell them.

It costs too much for us to print it off for us to give it away/sell it.

In any case, continue updating. This is actually really cool on itā€™s scale with 3D Printing.

Iā€™ve entered a 3D design competition and if I get enough likes on my entry then I could win my very own 3D printer so if you could please go give it a like here

You already have my like. Best of luck to your project.

I got you

Here it is
