So, I’ll be entering this:
Siret 5000: TX (oil tanker) class; 371HP@5600RPM;
Brasovia Sport: TU class; 194HP@6800RPM;

Love the styling work, RaduST.
(Oh, and HighOctaneLove… your TU entry is the best looking so far in my opinion.)
But I’m not here to judge looks, I’m here to run races.
) just noticed that i’ve made a stupid mistake and somehow managed to send the cars to VosNox instead of VicVictory.

Thanks VicVictory, I was worried my designs were boring so I’m grateful for the feedback
Looking forward to seeing how I fare as good looks don’t equal to race wins!
Just under 10 hours left to go before the submission deadline. 5 entries so far for TU and 4 for TX. Anyone else want to take a crack at it?
Full track list will be posted once the submission deadline passes.
Submissions closed. Full track list has been posted in original post.
Well I may not have been able to get past the (oil tanker) class, but many of my tracks did! Good luck to all of the entrants!
This is gonna be good.
Can’t wait to see what happens on Monday
What body type did you guys used for the TU class?
I think everyone used the 60’s small sedan body.
Alright! Some more info coming at you here. I have devised a simple points system based on number of entrants into each category.
TX (4 entries):
1st = 4 points
2nd = 3 points
3rd = 2 points
4th = 1 point
TU (5 entries):
1st = 5 points
2nd = 4 points
3rd = 3 points
4th = 2 points
5th = 1 point
And now some design stats…
TX class entries:
HighOctaneLove - Bogliq Bullfrog - 265 HP, 316 ft-lb torque, 2688 lbs
Luilakkie - TX - 378 HP, 354 ft-lb torque, 2308 lbs
applepi66 - OM Racing TX - 365 HP, 364 ft-lb torque, 2616 lbs
RaduST - Siret 5000 - 371 HP, 363 ft-lb torque, 2991 lbs
TU class entries:
HighOctaneLove - Bogliq Buttercup - 153 HP, 131 ft-lb torque, 1678 lbs
Luilakkie - “TA” - 228 HP, 150 ft-lb torque, 1495 lbs
oppositelock -TU - 175 HP, 144 ft-lb torque, 1404 lbs
ekorch20 - Kormar TA6 - 202 HP, 157 ft-lb torque, 1879 lbs
RaduST - Brasovia Sport - 194 HP, 157 ft-lb torque, 1502 lbs
Good luck to all! Results for Laguna Seca will be posted Monday. Participants will have from then until 8 AM Pacific Time (GMT-8) on Thursday morning to pm me any legal setup changes (as outline in the original post).
Uh oh, down over fifty horsepower. I guess I’ll have to make it up in the corners.
Ha, mine is so much heavier. I did intentionally restrict myself from using the fiber glass body, since I thought it would be more “realistic” for my company to replace steel body panels of a road car with aluminum instead (like Alfa Romeo did with the GTA that competed very successfully in the early Trans-Am races).
That being said, the power/weight ratio tells a slightly different story:
Bogliq Buttercup: 10.98 lbs/hp
TA: 6.56 lbs/hp
TU: 8.02 lbs/hp
Kormar TA6: 9.3 lbs/hp
Brasovia Sport: 7.74 lbs/hp
I also neglected to add a wing, since I don’t think this was very common at the time. I suspect intentionally handicapping my car in these ways won’t help me on the track, and on top of it all I’m total crap at gearbox design. Nevertheless, I’m very interested to see what happens. I know when I was doing test runs around Laguna Seca, my car actually performed better with a lower horsepower tuning due to the wider power band and flatter torque curve, so I suppose we’ll see how much these numbers end up telling us. Seeing as how it’s my first competition, I’m not expecting much, but it will certainly be fun to compete!
Holy crap, my TX is a porker!
Pretty happy with my TX’s power and weight, but somehow I just know my suspension is going to completely let me down xD
Standings have been posted (and will be updated) in the OP.
Here are the TX results for Laguna Seca:
1st - Luilakkie - 3:40.0
2nd - RaduST - 3:54.7
3rd - HighOctaneLove - 4:00.3
4th - applepi66 - 4:01.2
And the TU results for Laguna Seca:
1st - Luilakkie - 3:41.4
2nd - oppositelock - 3:42.1
3rd - RaduST - 3:44.9
4th - ekorch20 - 3:49.9
5th - HighOctaneLove - 4:01.7
Next race is Thursday Morning at the Green Hell. If you wish to use your alternate gearbox or alter any of the legal settings, please pm me the changes before 10am Pacific Time (UTC-8).
First of all. Congrats to Luilakkie. You must be a wizard man. You TX is lightning fast, miles ahead anything else. You should post some screenshots with the beast.
Second of all, I’m surprised how well my TX did, given the fact that it’s heaviest of them all. TU was comme ci comme ca for me. Just curious. Did any of you used V8s for lower COG and weight distribution in your TU cars? Cheers.
Well that was embarrassing This is why I do these comps; I still have a LOT to learn about the Automation car designer!
But I had fun making my cars look pretty and that’s all that matters in the end… (Still would have been nice to be a winner, lol )

Green Hell may take me a while to run, guys… I’m having issues with the game crashing when I run cars on the circuit (RaduST posted about this in the support section, bug reporting thread, but so far neither his fix nor the other fix that was proposed is helping)
I’m going to need to spend some time figuring out if there’s another way around it.
Decreasing the rear wing inclination worked for me… But i know it’s not ok for the organizer to make alteration to the cars. I think everybody should check is they can run their car on the Ring. If not make the (legal) modification in order for the simulation to work and resubmit.
