Yeah I want to make an entry too just kind of struggling with 70s design haha.

Err, i guess i didnt read correctly. Apologies, im so used to posting everything normally.

Welcome to the AVG MS5 Turbo. Why buy a boring, Japanese car, when you can buy French quirkiness?

0-60 in 7 seconds, and a top speed of 242kmh. 205 horsepower from a Flat 4 going to the front wheels. 5 seats. Sports tires.

What more could you want from a sedan?

Nested Details are great for cleaning up a post, terrible for finding things. Can you put it at the top or somewhere more obvious than wherever it’s hiding?

Fixed, found.

There’s no photo for the Hirose Angela. Then there’s a blank “untitled section”, then another “untitled section” that isn’t blank but has this car:

fucking shit, yea, I only got notified now. I’ll fix it. I have immense issues with forms for whatever reason, but there doesn’t seem to be an alternative

UPDATE: Those “empty” sections were ones I tried to delete and they just didn’t. All of the cars are in the vote, all of them have pictures and a rating bar, so we are getting the data we need. TLDR I am bad at using forms

Reviews pending?

Hello, so you wouldn’t believe it but I sorta got busy and forgot this as hell, yes they are underway and will be released today like 2 months late. School and work and other projects fill my mind.

Anyway, presentation wont be anything special this time, next time I will try to do better

OK, here are the results. Apologies in advance for the lazy formatting, and not publishing all of them, simply too much effort for me to put forward in this tired state of mind.

Engines

The top engines this time around were nested in the Diamante, Callahan and RTR, with honorable mentions for passing the 200 point mark going to the FN Arpeggio and Kurosake Kiba

1st. Diamante @ 298 points
2nd. Callahan @ 268 points
3rd. RTR @ 224

Trim

Trim was a far closer race. 3 cars crossed over the 100- point mark, with 5 others very close behind. There were some real stinkers too, of course, almost as if the competition was split cleanly in half.

1st. The winner of Best Trim with a whopping 150 points, the FN Arpeggio
2nd. Behind at 112 points, the Orion 2000, very respectable
3rd. And at 105, the Condor KT2200TR

Style

The submissions were quite…varying in quality. In a cosmically amusing turn of fate, some of the better looking cars (in our opinion), ended up scoring poorly in engineering, which made me quite sad to see.

1st. At an average of 8.85, the Orion 2000 VX Turbo, leading the pack with a comfortable lead too

2nd. SHARING second place, with an identical average of 7,83 the Nordvagen Valkyria and (our personal favorite) the Hirose Angela

3rd. In third place, the Condor Super Classic, achieving an average of 7,25

Final Scores

1st. The ultimate winner of this competition is the FN Arpeggio Turbo, at a whopping 370.p
2nd. Coming close behind, the Kurosake Kiba Turbo with a healthy 350 points
3rd. And to finish off the podium, the Callahan with 330 points

Lessons learnt and promises for the future

  1. A Scoring Tuneup

Our current system showed some bugs, no surprises there. The issue ended up concering two types of situations:

  • Ones where multiple cars had identical stats
  • And situations where individual cars had large stat gaps with the car following them

The latter is a complicated matter (bars), we had multiple cars that ended up closing huge gaps in the final scores because of how poorly the cars behind them performed. This led to a situation where 3 cars ended up with near identical final scores in one stat, despite the actual numerical gaps being more than 10 points

We need to figure out a system for handling these situations

  1. To Curb Bullshit

We saw multiple cars this round that had things such as 360km/h overdrive gears to cheese fuel economy. New rules will be in place to curb obviously bullshit solutions that are plainly unacceptable in auto engineering.

These rules will be “within reason”, this is still a game, but we will try to stomp very obvious trickery. We also contemplated an “at our discretion” rule for penalties, but that is still up in the air for how opaque and unpredictable that would be

  1. Karoshi- avoidance

We have a bit of an overkill problem. The visual presentation took up so much time and effort that we went faaaaar off schedule. We have to figure out how to keep the quality high while making the production more efficient.

This first round was exceptionally harsh because we had to make our own “identity” from scratch, even outside the visual space. The rulesets, scoring system etc. were made from the ground up, and that took up time.

  1. Oldman Wisdom

We need more people if we want to make more than a few of these in a year. Between school, work, actual IRL automotive projects among other things, time is running reaaaal tight.

A larger “staff” would help to spread that pressure over a larger area. Any amount of help in testing, scoring, visuals, ruleset drafting etc. would be a massive help. We also need people around to stop us from making the rulesets too “personalized”, our idea of fun might be very very far removed from most people without us even knowing it.

  1. Fashionably Fashionable

In the future, I promise to make the results announcement more visually pleasing and comperehensive, this was a last minute stretch thing, and I wont betray my audience by publishing dogshit like this again.

Anyhow, THANK YOU, EVERYONE

Next challenge coming sometime late summer- early autumn. We think you might like what we have in store.

Well its a great surprise i came second seeing i was not even mentioned in the list of the winner in every aspect instead of an honourable mention, well, thats what i call consistency, i really loved making the Kiba turbo

Let’s go best engine woohoo. A win is a win (kinda)
