#1973 Vaquero [corporate]3 trims[/corporate]
The second model that was presented in 1963 was the Vaquero. It was the attempt of Mastin to fill both utility and coupe buyers.
It was build on a ladder chassis with steel panels, with the classic Mastin set-up, FR with solid axle leaf in the back. It came with 3 different engines, the Durango L6 used in the Boyero (featuring a brand new 3 carbs system) and the Durango V8 also available in the Boyero. But for the highest trim, the sport one, a re-tune V8 was available with 209hp, paired to a 4 speed manual, capable of a top speed of 228 km/h and do 0-60 in less than 7 seconds.
The sales of the models were rather weak, specially for the high price tag for the v8 models, but as today, they stand as true classics, but most modern users swap the Durango V8 for a re-worked Classic Mastiff or a later Mastiff Gen engine.
