Max FUEL/cost EFFICIENCY

I thought I’d go in a different direction than everyone else seems to be going. Here is a topic for cranking out efficient engines. While I would like to mainly focus on fuel, it would be wise to also start thinking of cost efficiency as well for these engines. Here is my 1.8L I4, it has more hp and torque than my 2.0L I4 2008 kia spectra, for less than the same price of the engine too!

Building effecient engines is quite an interesting challenge compared to just all out power I find

decided to give this a shot…

Only 130 hp with a turbo?

Corrected to be more cost effective <.<. Reg Gas and 0 on the quality sliders.

USDMFTW, this is supposed to be cheap engine thread. Take a look at your manhours. Take a reasonable worker’s wage per hour and multiply it by your engine’s manhours and add it to your material cost, and you’ll find out the price of your engine kind of makes it unprofitable to use in average cheap car (or even a bit more expensive ones, for that matter)

Ok so how do companies today make pretty much the same engine, and still churn a profit? You have to do some unrealistic things in this game in order to get certain things to become a reality. Until we can design on a parts level, and make proprietary parts for our cars so every little bit is our design, then that is when we will really be able to see skill.

I like how USDMFTW changed his/her photo an hour AFTER Kuboz mentioned the appalling man-hours…

I seen the word efficiency and built on that without reading the full title and corrected myself, is there a problem?

no, i’m just saying its funny :unamused:

I should sell it the old way and see if anyone buys it tbh,lol

Do I win?

Still a WIP.

I can hardly get above 20% efficiency…where am I going WRONG!

Probably too much fuel and too aggressive cam.

I have the oppisite issue, I have a totally stupid expensive 49.40% efficiency engine, anyone else up that high?

I will look at that bonkers engine expect a response in a few days but nearly 50% efficiency…all tech points set to 15 I bet

Oh yes, and 2020

whats the g/kwh I get around 395 or something

g/Kwh = 157.90
g/Kwh = 157.90
FIrst question…how did you do this??
