My new 1980 Peugeot 604 Ti Automatic

I see a CX 25 GTi Turbo 2 regularly at the local annual car meet, it’s actually a British car meet but thankfully a few other cars show up. Awesome car if you like ridiculous, large French cars that tries to be sporty but is in no-way actually sporty.

True, CX’s lean as hell, but they have lots of grip, and yes: the are really weird.
The one i’m interested in has an aftermarket intercooler and is chiptuned, so it makes a nice 220 HP, rather than 168 HP :sunglasses:

Yeah, it’s pretty awful, but since the dutch government banned people driving classic cars in (i think) November, December, January and February, it’s not my business anymore! (for a few months…)[/quote]

Banned perfectly well running machines. I do not mean to sound like a redneck, but if the government tried to stop me from driving my car I spent 10 years restoring. There would be hell to pay.

Please buy the CX. Please. XM is great, especially if you’re looking at the earlier 24v, but the CX just has that extra something.

I think it will be the CX , I like the XM a lot, but the CX is in my opinion the last real Citroën!

UPDATE:

I’ve bought a car, and it is not a Citroën, but a Talbot!
It’s a 1984 Talbot Samba Cabriolet 1.3 (it’s actually a 1.4, but nevermind that…), and it is quite a rare car too: something over 13.000 were produced.
I like it

Fantastic! I love it. There are hardly any Sambas left over here now, that looks an excellent one. How are you finding it so far?

A Talbot that haven’t been scraped a long time ago due to rust, yea that is actually kind of rare.

I really like it! The weather here is a bit crap, so I haven’t opened the roof yet… but it’s quite quick! The engine has about ~80 Hp and the car weighs nothing, so yeah… I love it!

Yes, just like my old Peugeot

UPDATE:

I have bought another car!
A 1985 Citroën CX 25 GTI Turbo 2

It’s actually my winter car, because my Samba is not very winter-proof
It’s quick too, with 166 HP
This series CX is quite rare, because it has the bumpers and the chrome window strips from the series 1 and the interior from the series 2.

Btw, I have the original Turbo wheels, but those are mounted on the summer tyres.

I love that CX!

Although the series one dashboard is way cooler IMO.

True

hydraulic suspension model?

Yes, very comfortable
But the sad thing is that Citroën decided to kill off this system a few months ago…

Fixed that for you. I always like to blame Peugeot for any boring/bad things that happen to Citroen. :stuck_out_tongue:

On a lighter note, cracking choice of car! Can’t wait to see pictures of it with the Turbo wheels back on it in the summer, hint hint.

Thanks Adam!
The CX has always been one of my favorite cars! They’re weird in every way

And yes, Citroën’s are a bit bland nowadays… but the C4 Cactus looks in my opinion great!

The Cactus is, in my opinion, the best thing they have made for a long long time. A friend has a 1.6 BlueHDi which is pretty good, but for me the 1.2 Turbo is the one to have, absolutely brilliant little engine. Sadly only tried it in a DS3, not a Cactus.
