Once you make this, you need to unmerge the UVMesh, and you need to reduce a little the UVMesh with the scale (and make the same with the vertex near x=0 of the rear step), and erase these polys with the redo keyboard key (the same to erase words key), EXCEPT THE TWO CORNERS (not erase the unselected vertex in the image).
And you need to align the UVMesh with the grille perfectly with the help of align tool (first select the UVMesh, and secondly, any vertex of the grille, and “play” with the align position (world).
thanks:) any idea how i can remove that ugly UV mesh line
Yes.
First, you need to select all vertex near the X=0 axis.

Looks good, you are learning fast! But I think that latest grille needs a smoothing group around the edge, as the flow of polygons is visible in the lighting.
OH BOY the Taiki grille… some may notice I’m a fan of the Nagare design language. I’ll wait to see if those smoothing groups do come, and if they do, they’re gonna get snapped up like flapjacks.
here are the last 2 grilles with smoothing groups. i’ve done the best I can to make them look as smooth as possible. N_Grille2.zip (80.7 KB) N_Grille3.zip (162 KB)
