Yeah, I’m only using the steam mods from the workshop. Maybe that’s the reason. You’ll be able to change the car once the warmup event is done.
Also the first battles have commenced, and in the idea of making things more interesting I am widening the gap for OMT runs. Before - the cars had to be separated by 1 point for an OMT, I propose 5 points (out of possible 90) difference leading to OMT. Also we got a taste of bad drivability and bad luck Enjoy this while I work on the next set of battles. Also drivability is paramount it seems, but some went too safe with cars barely pushing 300+ hp, when some exceed 600 (no 1200hp monsters this time which is good, PTTA has demonstrated a need for stricter drivability penalties)
I don’t know how I managed to be illegal in 2 categories
SRD is already hard at work fixing the car. The tech guys reported that despite adjusting the engine to a different fuel and eliminating the downforce, we lost absolutely no time on track (we don’t know what they were doing last time when they were setting up the car). Some drivabillity was lost in process but after replacing the gearbox and tweaking the suspension, we are converting rubber from solid to gaseous state 40% faster now. Test driver reported improvements on handling too!
We’re all to make improvements. Just as an info, a lot of us tanked on judge 3, some of us are pushing barely enough power to slide yet along to smoke the tires. I will create a new thread for the revisions and new info, but as of now, the warmup event is complete.
Well, this was certainly a pleasant surprise. Excellent writeups @squidhead, it read very well.
Turns out chubby little cars are overpowered Though I’m sure the full event will be a much harder competition. The Prodigy doesn’t have much more room for improvement, I don’t think, and the competition will be getting stronger as Matti has already done.
Not to beat my own drum, I’ve seen exactly which things I’ve overlooked IN THE DAMN JUDGING RULES. As in yes, me and @strop have thought up these formulas and I’ve simply went “yeah, I don’t need to know what’s important in them”. A quick rebuild has seen a better car, but a more thorough approach will be required.
Well, I’m honestly surprised. I had a chance, at least briefly, before my typical luck took hold and the RNG kicked my ass. Still, I’m proud of the little 2.6L inline 4 in the Storm Knight. And apparently I had just enough wheelspin to be able to smoke some tires.
