The grille will be released as soon as I can get the thumbnail maker to work, it just crashes the game… Can anyone help?
I had this problem a lot of times. You must make a thumbnail by your own. just make a *.png and safe it as “thumb1.png” in the directory.
Sometimes, I have the same problem, and my solution is this:
-
Select the NON-FIAT Coupé body, and make the rear part (looking from the side face, the rear end part has to be like a box).
-
Put the grille.
-
In the console, using Help(), search the command to disable the background of the garage, and use this command.
-
Move the camera to the rear part.
-
Make a snapshot in the game (no printing screen).
-
With the Photoshop, open the snapshot we have done in the previous step.
-
With the Path Selection tool, select in the snapshot the contour of the grille, copy the selection, and close the snapshot file.
-
Open in Photoshop the thumb1.png.
-
Create a new layer, and now click to paste (copy / paste), and scale clicking ctrl+t, moving the vertex points. If you like the scale result, select other tool, and you will get a warning. Click YES.
-
Select the original layer, and erase all.
-
Save in format *.png, and replace.
I was actually looking for a way to fix the crashing, but yeah I will make the thumbnails that way. Thanks!
I finally managed to finish the grille I started yesterday! I streamed for about 3 hours while I sorted out various LUA file issues, and fine tuned the model. Today I did the thumbnails and now I can finally release it!
It’s from the Hyundai ix35! I love the modern Hyundai cars, especially the front end, so hopefully you guys can make something equally stylish with this grille!
I also included a blacked-out version by Leo’s request. http://i.imgur.com/n6nb6cG.png
EDIT: Updated the zip file with separated versions of the grille.
Enjoy!
Pleb IX35.zip (267 KB)
Love the grille. Maybe another idea could be to make the top and bottom end seperate, so you get more creative freedom?
Zip file updated with separate versions of the grille.
Thanks man! Looks amazing! Now I can start combining stuff.
I have a set of headlights coming soon, but I need someone to help me put the finishing touches to it. If someone could PM me, that would be great!
Cheers!
I am making a magazine and one of the cars that I am using in the game needs “Pleb Grille 5” but I cannot find it in this thread or the modpack. Can you give my the files?
Yeah, I renamed all my grilles a while back, so I’m not quite sure which one Grille 5 was. If you could tell me what the grille looks like I can send you the right one.
I will have to ask the creator of the car. I will tell you as soon as possible!
Hey guys!
So after a very long time without updating this thread, I finally found out why my mods weren’t showing up on the workshop, so you can now see some of my mods on the Steam Workshop for you to enjoy! They aren’t all there yet but they will be eventually.
I will also be uploading a few completely new grilles to the workshop. I will not offer it for download here so you MUST go to the Steam Workshop to download them.
Cheers!

Any update on this? Did you get help?
Kubby helped me with it, but I think I’ve lost the file, and it wasn’t ready for release anyway as it had some material issues, but I will redownload the file and fix whatever’s left to be fixed! Stay tuned
EDIT: Here’s a very rough preview of the headlights after a bit of polishing with help from Kubby! (The glass in the headlight will not be transparent as seen in the picture, I just need to work out what material ID it needs.
Try ECS_HEADLIGHT
If you mapped the right material it should be transparent.
ECS_Headlight is the material I am using in the LUA file, but the glass doesn’t have the ribbed look that I want (e.g small square headlight). I don’t know if I assigned the wrong material ID in 3DS Max, but I don’t know what material ID ribbed glass is.
AFAIK the ribbed glass look is something to set within 3DS max.
And it is not just a material like tons of other things in the game because it also includes a texture.
I’ll mess around with it but IIRC the material is within the headlight example file.
Hey guys,
Just a quick heads-up. Someone by the name of pv2whiteb has began posting my items to the Steam Workshop. Please DO NOT try to subscribe to his “work”, as it is not his and probably downloads some shitty virus to your PC anyway. Every time I upload something to the workshop, I will update this thread. So far the only things I have uploaded are the Frontier grille, and the normal and split versions of the IX35 grille.
If you see any other things uploaded my pv2whiteb that isn’t his work, please report for copyright infringement, or notify the original owner so it can be taken down.
Thanks
EDIT: It seems that pv2whiteb is a bot, but still, if it posts anymore suspicious things to the workshop, report it.
I think that is the same bot that makes spam in this website.
