Nice! Very, very nice!
…heh. I’m going to see if I can make an alternate trim of the Murina with an inline-6 turbo, just for fun.

You’ve got me strop, I’m only about 150hp/ton and slower in the straights. Maybe we can run a track day after the results are posted, that might be fun. I’ve got a pretty low wheel spin penalty, 1.22 G’s cornering, and decentish braking so maybe it will be close on the twistys.
Oh we should. Frankly I’m strangely (for a pixel car) desirous of the Puck, because I’ve had a soft spot for miniatures. My only problem is that you can only fit so much engine in one… at any rate, I’m not at all confident that my car will make the final four, all I wanted was to see how much power I could cram into it lol. But I also happen to have 1.22gs cornering… at least in the 20m circle. Due to lift that drops off slightly in the larger circle. Also, I’m pretty sure I have close to 40% wheelspin so…
Trying to compete in a market with great cars, Fuentes Motors came up with the Bagel!! A small 2 door car, with an 1.4 engine, 16v!! dohc!
The Bagel S, comes with a nice Standard interior, a basic radio, some stripes, and a sunroof!
Also with a short geared box, and special steel wheels! 0-60 in 10s and 31,87 us mpg (7.38lt/100km)
Does the Bagel come with Philly Cream Cheese too?
…oh, man, I wish I’d had the idea of an I6 turbo before I submitted the Murina XC. I just built the Murina LC (Less Cheap) around a 1.8L twin-carb DOHC I6, and while it certainly won’t be winning any races against nialloftara’s Centauri Puck or strop’s Armada Talon (the LC runs a 17+ second quarter mile and gets 1.1 g cornering force at 20 m), it beats the XC on every metric save three: reliability, total cost, and service costs.
I think I learned a fair amount about building turbo engines from the experience, though - I’ll have to see how well I can apply that in the future!
The ZM Gorizia!
It’s the Znopresk Marlin group world logo. It’s a meshup of the Zap and the front mechanics of a Dolphine.
I envy you, Vic, for being able to drive all of these…
At Rennen, we love our cars to be sporty, sensible, and great for all uses. So, we created our very-first 2-Door sports sedan, the Rennen Angelus!
I absolutely love the variety.
An based on comments that have been made in the thread about people touting their own cars, I went back and made a straight-6 version of the Benchmark car, base off of the Ishi-series motors in the first-gen Suzume Kaminari. This version of the Hane was good enough to earn the “GS-R” trim level, since it beat my original benchmark by a bit.
(Of course, the OFFICIAL benchmark car will still be the original trim that I created and finalized before the first entry was submitted.)
As a side note, my 7-year-old son has been bugging me as to when he can make another car in Automation so I might throw him into the mix here and let him design his own, according to the rules. It will be scored but not be eligible to win, just like my benchmark car.
it’s an optional feature! The standard Bagel is very “diet”!
updates:
First attempt: is miserable. Engineers have been sacked.
Second attempt: looks promising until price is revealed. Financial planners have been sacked.
Third attempt: management come to decision that this small car MUST include a 4L V8 Engine or it will fail . New financial planners scramble to find budget space.
Fourth attempt: management is convinced that the 4L V8 is not enough, adds Turbochargers. Entire financial division quits. Test drivers claim that the car can be effective and sporty with smaller, more responsive engine. Management fires test drivers. No applicants. Production halted temporarily. Future appears bleak.
I hope you’re not going to submit something with a V8… because the rules state “Inline configurations only”
Management seems disappointed, but will allow construction of smaller, simpler engine.
I agree, if these cars physically existed I would want to jump in and test drive all of them. It’s totally my preferred market and the cars here just look so good.
I present you, the Ponni Olympus Luce 2.5l. A modern looking RWD sports coupé, with 130bhp coming from a SOHC 2.5 liter four banger with 4 valves per cylinder.
This car follows the philosophy of “less is more”, so while power isn’t anywhere near impressive, it’s still lightweight enough to not be considered sluggish.

…your “less is more” engine is 50% bigger and produces twice as much power as mine.
That aside: it looks really, really good. Very stylish trim!
Introducing the PR78C…
Yes the engineers won out by insisting they build the engine and transmission their way… and barely made the max budget.

Does that car have 4 seats? If it doesn’t it won’t qualify!!! Change to a different body, STAT!!!
Yeaaah… ignore Zabs post… Illegal body.
Edit: The response has been overwhelming so far. I will end the competition early if I receive another 8 cars, which is the limit of my current spreadsheet (and sanity). That 8 includes Zabhawkin’s redesign, if he gets it in on time.
I know Leo, 8BS, and Spitfire have expressed interest in submitting but have not yet done so. So to those out there I say: GET OFF YOU BUTT AND DO IT! This competition may very well end earlier than the original deadline! And if you miss out… your problem, not mine.
Here is my entry, the Quark FR445, here in US-spec, with the US-mandated front fascia and little side indicators.
FR means both face-ripper and also is a nod to the front engined, rear drive layout. And the 445 number is a nod to the 4 valves per cylinder, the 4 barrel carb and the 5-speed gearbox. All of which, combine to provide a face-ripping 0-60 time of 12.5 seconds and a blistering 99 MPH topspeed from the 80 hp, SOHC, 1.4 engine.
Oops, missed that Ill fix it.
