Post Apocalyptic Ambulance Challenge *Edited for Clarity*

Including cooling? Or is that ok?

If you leave cooling at 0 the car will be untestable, so I assume cooling should be set to something reasonable.

I say set it at the minimum required, leaving brake cooling at 0.

Or perhaps just leave cooling at 0, as increasing it increases drag. And that slows you down, makes your car less fuel efficient, among other nasty things.

That does mean the car is un-drive-able though, as no air gets to the engine.

I meant brake cooling :stuck_out_tongue:

Question, what if low quality fuel is not even available as an option for the year I am looking at? And is it -15 quality in EVERY tab (this hasnt been clarified yet, you only keep saying -15 but no real concrete answer).

EDIT: I can get my octane requirement down to the Low Quality level (76), is that sufficient?

Low quality in-game is 80 octane, so that would be the fuel required.

80 is RON, 76 is AKI. My problem stems from the fact that my car as it is built now, has no access to unleaded fuel and therefore no Low Quality. I have the engine currently tuned to a required octane of 76 (AKI) which is what Low Quality is to begin with. IMO That should be sufficient although I would have higher wear on my valve seats due to the lack of lead.

Ah, my bad. And yeah, if you’re running leaded fuel then there’s no low quality gasoline, the lowest is just regular.

Yes, leave cooling at the minimum required for engine operation. Break cooling or cooling flaps are no beuno.

mmm, that means I need to resubmit. No problem, I can make it worse!

So any word on the octane/fuel requirement and quality settings? Like I said I can make my engine run on 76 octane but I do not have Low Quality avail for my year (you didnt put in a year limit), I have also set every single slider to -15 just to be safe.

Year was said to be 2016. it’s not in the OP but in comments.
In my first attempt I used ultimate  because secrete stash

That is for a new car, mine is far from it (want old tech) but eh, will see.

Even though the world has gone down the toilet, ABR hasn’t, and we’re now building post apoc cars tailored for your demands.

The ABR Roach

The Roach is a hardy little fella. The grille is from a Mercedez toy car scaled 1:12 we stole from Rob’s daughter that provides sufficient cooling.
The headlights are from an actual Merc, fitted at a sad angle suitable for the postapocalyptic state of mind.
Light in general is scarce and it is important to have good vision all around the car watching for sick people or raiders, so we fitted the Roach with all the lamps/searchlights we could find.
This means thirteen lights on each side, six at the back and six at the front.
The centermounted exhausts are centermounted to make room for the wheels.
Speaking of wheels, these 15" steel rims were all we found, with differing width front and rear, but it shouldn’t affect the handling too badly.
The front wing is mainly in place to give the car an appearance of a sad panda with a bad haircut, while the roofmounted wing mainly acts as a roof rack as you won’t have a lot of space inside the car.
With 2 seats it has room for you and the doc, while any passengers can be thrown in the boot as long as you wrap them into fetal position first.
The engine is a 1,2L masterpiece V6. I say masterpiece because we welded it together from 2x 600cc motorbike engines to get enough displacement.
With no turbos and a SOHC, it revs up to 8500 rpm just like a motorbike, and gets max power output at 7700rpm with 100hp and 97nm at 6700 rpm.
Coupled with a total weight of 599,9kg you should be able to reach your pasients in no time!

Since I didn’t see it listed anywhere, are there any restrictions on mods we can use?

Edit: Also, I assume the max cost is the “total cost” in the overview?

And what’s the deadline on this thing? I’ll be building something but just don’t have the time as yet.
