Posting some preview shots of the Bournell Super 68 “AeroDyne”, I might have gone a bit overboard for 1951. So this might be a custom or special version of another car I’ll backwards engineer and include in the final add. (Design still WIP)
What wins on Sunday, sells on Monday.
Combine an advanced unibody construction with a powerful slant six, and you have a race-ready road rocket currently taking the Grand National division by storm.
And with seating for five, collapsing steering column, standard FM radio, and optional air conditioning, the Meteor is no slouch when it comes to hauling family, friends, or the fellow in the trunk.

1951 Barnes & Powell Commander
Barnes & Powell was founded in 1909 by Arthur Barnes and Joseph L. Powell from Harford, Gasmea. From their beginnings, they offer a variety of premium and luxury cars, slowly but surely gaining reputation around Gasmea. Most of their popularity comes from the level of prestige they achieve in their cars, especially since the introduction in 1930 of their flathead inline-eight design, improved in 1948 with a new OHV design.
The Barnes & Powell Commander first released in 1949 and strongly built its own reputation as a fast and comfortable saloon, with enough space to fit six adults, and three more could even fit in the gigantic closed trunk if needed…
The 1951 Barnes & Powell Commander offers for its third year a variety of new features :
-
improved performance, comfort and reliability with the revamp of its 2-speed automatic transmission, and the introduction of a new “reverse flow” muffler design
-
improved drivability and cornering with its larger tires, a new sway bar in the front and a slightly stiffer suspension
-
improved safety and braking abilities with its new twin leading shoe front brakes and an added pair of secondary headlights above the front bumper.
-
improved living comfort with a new veneer, dark wood and high quality cloth interior, along with a well lit dashboard (that works really fine in BeamNG btw)

The 1950 Warren was the first generation where the brand had both short- and long-wheelbase bodystyles - spurred by the addition of Somervell to Arlington’s brand bouquet, slotting above the previously top-of-the-line Warren. The new shorty cars still had largely Warren engineering, inheriting the torque-tube coil sprung rear axle among other things.
They also only ever came with Warren’s trademark “Valve-in-Head” (pushrod overhead valve) straight-eight, coming in either a 1bbl 261ci (4.3) or a 2bbl 292ci (4.8) configuration. The latter, advertised at 200 gross horsepower (160 net), was a genuine powerhouse even compared to some of the more-advanced V8s of the time, and vehicles outfitted with it also received the forward-looking yet somewhat controversial “twinjet” grille - aimed at giving the car a wider and more “horizontal” look than the Ford-like “F-86” or “monojet” grille.
Starting in 1951, the Eastwood 292 model on the shorter Warren body included an all-synchromesh 3-speed manual, premium leather bench seats, and special 11-inch rear drum brakes - along with a set of high-traction bias tires. Aside from the Twinjet grille, styling was still a fairly restrained semi-ponton, allowing the car to remain lowkey with a degree of imposing. This generation was the last Warren with a split windshield, and the second-last with the straight eight - which peaked in 1955 with the Warren Double Twin, a fearsome 335 hp gross (263 net) 376ci (6.2) engine with an overbuilt forged crank and a 2x2bbl arrangement.
Those chromed vertical bars look a lot like the teeth of a large predatory animal, prehistoric or otherwise… It lends the '51 Eastwood a sense of menace, and makes its owners feel like they will start devouring the road the moment they hit the gas, especially in the later Double Twin trim level.
Car lore: Meet the magnificent CBC Newborn! The first car of the CBC autos and the start of their financial hardship! Made by a rich man in 40’s the car was supposed to be a limited sales in the land of the free, but many issues and legal troubles later, the rich man was broke and sold the company to CBC Co, a perfume company at the time, they took the design and added some adjustments to be appealing to a larger market and updated the safety features and released it at 1952! The car made with a huge V12 making 159HP and good for a sub 12 second 0-100kmh! Making it a choice of many to rip it off of their luxury seats, cut the roof, and switch the carburetor setting for a more advanced one and either race it or face the law while hauling moonshine!
The car had it’s issues, such as break fades and some reliability issues with the engine that caused major recalls through out the car’s life time, but it was a magnificent mark at this struggling car company’s life!
