QFC61 - Little Trek [FINISHED]

was still worth trying even though I got binned
as for one of the worst reliability ratings… well, authentic post-2000s german engineering lol

this doesn’t set well for my other cars ive got up.
I noticed im getting errors exporting to beam, and after reimporting i see it set my engine tech pool to 15 across the board.

sorry for what ever is going on on my end.
Great work and best of luck everyone.

Ah yes, Nordwagen’s patterns continue: safety comes from control instead of gadgets, three pedals take it or leave it, pricey but you get what you pay for, chronically in 2nd place. I have @texaslav to thank for improved styling making it as far as 2nd, anyway. I suppose it’s telling that apart from the white wheels, my favorite parts of the design are those that our buyers liked least, and vice-versa; this era and segment is very much not my department.

You certainly do have a knack for this! I have lost track of the number of challenges in which you have ended up in 2nd–including ones I’ve hosted. But, hey, people remember Creedence Clearwater Revival a whole lot better than random one-hit wonders!

And if moroza has a talent for landing in second place, well, once again I manage to have a competitively engineered vehicle that stumbles in the design department.

I feel compelled to defend my honor a bit here, though, because even if the overall effect of the design might have been wanting, there is in fact a ton of detail that went into this design. For example, all of the grilles have grillework rather than the default grille textures, the taillights were painstakingly custom-shaped to blend into the shape of the rear, all of the lights have reflectors and bulbs, and the rear glass even has the black trim around the edges, a washer fluid nozzle, and the rear defroster built into the glass:

In other words, while I used to put out boring designs that were lacking in detail, I would like it acknowledged that I at least have progressed to the point of making boring designs that have a bunch of pointless detail invested in them!

Anyway, thanks @vero94773 for the very quick turnaround on the reviews, and congrats to @vouge on the win!

Damn I wanted this to make it past the bin phase!! I tried on the exterior design and even moreso the engineering. Its all good tho, like yall have told me in the past, its just a game.

This game/sim is dope as fuck tho, and I’MMMM addicted.

Dueces and respect to all of you.

Grats to the winner and big thanks to our host for a super quick and well written challenge.

Despite a design rush job that was supposed to be a facelift downgrade (and really not being happy about how it looks), I am quite surprised to place that high, engineering was a nice challenge on this one for sure.

Congrats to the winner, well deserved as always. And thanks @vero94773 for hosting, this was definitely a fun round and as always quickest turnaround ever.

Thanks @happyfireballman for the collab, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great write ups, especially with the fast turn around. Congratulations to everyone in the finalists.

Regards my own car I should probably have stuck with the on demand awd, which would have made the off-road a fair bit better at not a lot of fuel economy detriment

Great writing from @vero94773 as per usual. Sadly am going to pass down the hosting duties to @moroza @Texaslav .

I did debate sending the original 6.2L V8, however at 14mpg I gathered that this would get be binned far faster than a smaller engine. The WES 9 must’ve been an oversight on my part as I went to tweak things.

Every time I look at the Culverian, I keep thinking “if it had less ground clearance, bigger wheels/tires, and color-coded body cladding, plus some sportier exterior details, it could form the basis for a true hot hatch” - but as it is, it’s still a complete package in crossover form.

I’ll be picking up hosting duties for ol’ 62. Expect a brief shortly.
