1982 Wells FIREHAWK SX

First seen at the 1978 Gasmean Auto Show, as the P2-Concept ALC01, the long awaited FIREHAWK is finally here. Visually, the FIREHAWK SX looks like a clone of the P2-Concept from '78, but that’s where the similarities end. Gone is the supercharged fire breathing 536hp V-8. In its place for the SX trim, sits an eager 92hp Dohc inline 4. Double wishbone suspension remains upfront, although the rear was switched out for a solid axle coil setup. We imagine that was in the name of cost savings. No matter how you cut it, the FIREHAWK SX still aims to please even the most enthusiastic driver, all for the highly attainable price of just $13,600. Word has it that there is a v6 and even a v8 in the works.
