The XL53’s desolate convertible replacement, except it never really replaced it, and it was the most standing-out car of the lineup. It however did share the same V8, The LX50 has became the open-top luxury cruiser to fill in the gap of the lineup. (Did first ever 3D-fixture interior on this one)
2000 Daniloski KimiKup
All-Alu 16 valve engine assures great progress with its 170hp from 1922cc inline 4
Powering 1220 kg never seemed so nice
Design is far from being instant hit or future classic, but offends noone and gives clear presentation of its purpose
We are of thought that no unnecessary details should be atributed to a car, and with that we excel.
Its 2+2 configuration allows you to bring some friends with you as well
Best news?
Unlikely to break your bank either: combined fuel economy is 7.7 liters per 100 km and service costs are just 921 AMU
Combine that with its 28.9k AMU price and you can marvel at its greatness.
This one takes styling cues from the FC and FD RX-7s and combines them into a small, yet attractive package. The result looks ace - and it should have an exhilarating driving experience to match.
The new Halvson Performa Turbo manages to package the advanced sPORT 2 litre inline 5 from our family car line, the Harrier, into a small sports car, not unlike offerings from famous Japanese companies. The difference here is that we offer a turbo, 5 cylinders, and RWD fun.
It’s been more than a week since the deadline, and we still haven’t had any reviews of the entries - so what’s the hold up?
“Challenge closes at 11:59 PM UTC on the 15th” - it is you that have misunderstood things.
This was specifically called out, this round was extended due to other challenges finishing around then.
On that note - challenge is closed. Reviews will come shortly.
Edit: I’ve realised I should’ve posted a reminder that this is closing, and due to IRL circumstances, reviews won’t start until Wednesday. I’m extending submissions until 11:59 UTC, on the 17th of May. That is 35 hours from now.
I will just say before the reviews, I know my car will do awfully compared to everyone else’s, but I just wanted to make a kit car
My goal was to melt tires and stuff a big-block in a small convertible.
I wanted to just make a weirder-looking GT Cabriolet, whilst encapsulating my company’s design language
I literally just did a Civic EK9 Type-R
A mid-engine smol sports car, 150 hp and can turn on a dime, it is fun and exciting to drive with a 0-100 of 6.5 seconds, you are in full control without too much pesky electronics in the way. How a true sport car should be. It is relatively cheap as well!
This is the targa edition, because even YOU deserve a tan.
OOC: Hope I got it in time. That was a last minute job when I saw it was extended
Introducing the Cronos Rocket VI starting at just 37100 AMU
Inspired by race cars of a bygone era and the simple, viceral, white knuckle thrill they provided, the Rocket VI is an adrenaline machine built for two. The unique, all weather, tandem seat design weighs less that 700 kg with power provided to the rear wheels through a five speed manual gearbox by a 1000cc inline four. Get yours to experience thrills like Moss, Clark, and Fangio now with the added bonus of room for a terrified passenger!Gordon Murray wants his car back
@GassTiresAndOil - Armor Sunburst GS: Ah, the nineties. The era of no lineflow, just make it look good. It fits the brief well, though, nice times for a low price.
@Karhgath - Régal Atome: Basic 90s Safety, no TC/ESC? Somebody’s gonna die. Quite the aggressive, mean looks too, it wants you dead.
@Tsundere-kun - Cabrillo Raphale GTR: Looks expensive. Real expensive. It’s a bit big and heavy for my liking, but it does decently well in the stats.
@z2bbgr - Pocono Sport Spider: Seat pattern clashes too much, looks real expensive too, stats are pretty nice overall though.
@MrdjaNikolen - Daniloski KimiKup: Looks like it fits the budget in the front, but it looks like an old Chrysler at the rear. Brake fade kills the performance, oof.
@abg7 - AMS Shadowcrow 3.0: Sleek yet blob, I like it. Looks “Realistically expensive”, like a 30k car trying to look like a 60k car.
@Bbestdu28 - BMA Compaq 286: Hey, I know that name! Hot hatch is an adventurous choice, boring-looking sleeper hatch even more so. It’s super fast, but with low comfort.
@BTCheetah - Rocket: Nike ONE at home. This car abuses how width (and drag/footprint/price) is done. It’s not fast, and has high sport despite mega brake fade.
@cake_ape - Niata by Mons Customs: Not a fan of the taillights, overall looks too custom and is super expensive but easy to drive. I never like carbon hoods, but that’s me.
@ChemaTheMexican - Tobuhai Urbano R-spec: Actually hot-looking hatch. Shame it’s slower than most, has bad sportiness and has -5 quality basic safety + no TC, so it’s a deathtrap too.
@CritcicalSet9849 - Morton SX20: Pop-ups are cool and easy, car is nice and sleek - but the weight and weak i5 drag the performance down
@Ducethetruth100 - WMS: Headlights are too far in, small grille just sticks out like a sore thumb. Basic interior + mega stiff springs is pain.
@Edsel - Aero Keai: Limited to 140 km/h, which kills sport/laptimes. Yes, 140 is the kei gentleman’s agreement, I don’t care about Japan’s taxes and norms.
@ErenWithPizza - Shima Camille: I get told this constantly, and now I get it. Too much negative space is bad. There’s nothing to catch the eye on the sides, it’s boring.
@Fayeding_spray - Compak Speedster: I’m not a fan of the way the chrome trim looks, or the matte white with the metallic blue. Bad acceleration hurts laptimes a lot.
@kalan - Mano stry 188 ModerizationII: I am going to do a longer review, because everything here is wrong. Engineering “highlights”: Mega wheelspin, gearing limits top speed below 210kmh, terminal oversteer, staggered wheel/tyre diameter but not width, basic interior, AM radio only, no ABS, costs 47k. Visuals suck too, with clashing paint, janky-looking fender flares, taillights floating in midair, overuse of 3D primitives generating awful-looking grille and light housing “curves”, headlight projectors clipping through the cover, and an incomplete interior which is on full display due to the removal of the top. Please do not waste my time like this.
@Ldub0775 - Takahashi Rocket: Looks expensive. It’s a fantastic car… But it fails at being small, being light and, compared to the rest of the field, being sporty.
@Lotto77 - Halvson Performa Turbo 2.0: It’s just kinda… Middle of the road? Looks nice but not captivating. Fast but not too fast. A tad heavy, despite a low footprint. Not bad?
@Madrias - Bricksley Kingsnake 427ci: Outdated V8, not sporty, really heavy yet uncomfortable… It’s all the worst parts of muscle cars wrapped into one!
@mart1n2005 - Knightwick Pulse 2.0 V6: It’s a shame this thing accelerates so slowly and only has a basic cassette player, because it’s absolutely gorgeous. Sex.
@Nightwave - Ibis Anodus: Another car in desperate need of a turbo or a larger engine. Performance is dragged down by a weak engine, you know the drill.
@NoahC - Yinzer MR-Squared: Fast on track, but at what cost? Expensive, uncomfortable, heavy and a bit of a pain to drive. Looks super expensive too.
@SheikhMansour - Oryu Destriero Cabrio: Seen a lot of cars like this one, but somehow, it’s just cute. Maybe it’s the yellow. It’s impossibly fast, with no basically compromises.
@Fletchyboy100 - Dalton Ultralight (EuroTek): You should’ve mentioned I need to hide body+chassis. It’s light, but lacks power. The massive issue, though, is car having a big fat zero for comfort.
@Kobracashi - Reduit WK-99: I love the way it looks… But the high camber shreds the staggered tyres, plus the high price doesn’t buy comfort.
@Riley - Zephorus M1: It’s immaculately crafted, with the stats to match. It looks expensive, that’s the criticism. Looks too expensive, but you know…
@Interior - Schnell LX50: It exudes cool. Shame it’s heavy and lacks sportiness, because it’s really, really cool.
Finishing order and next-in-line will come in another post, I wanted to get these out nice and quickly and I need to go touch grass.
Yeah, I wasn’t too surprised I was underpowered. It’s a running theme.
