The car is designed to be reliable , economic and frugal. It can go anywhere, anytime with any drunken peasant driving it.
Pros
– good acceleration
– good braking
– large cargo space
– 5 seats
– 780 km range (better than most european automobiles of the time)
– mudproof paint
– easy and cheap to fix
The conversation in the board room of perenially struggling British manufacturer (that kept trying to export to international markets when they really should have been continuing to play to their home market first), Armada Motors, went something to the tune of, well, it’s time to recycle an old design, but they might want to make a few changes first, such as replacing the panels with cheap plastic, building the thing on a ladder instead of unibody construction, changing the drivetrain type, stripping the interior, nevermind the crumple zones… oh hang it just go the whole hog and change everything up.
The result: it’s the Belford. Except not the Belford, because the only thing that’s even remotely similar about it is the appearance. Oh, and the V6, but that’s been updated with a swanky new DOHC valvetrain. Armada never changed their valvetrain pioneering ways, even, or especially, when it came to exports. And because they skimped on the panels and interior, the wagon is spacious, very light, and therefore, very economical and frankly, goes like the blazes.
PLEASE only use the linked mod pack from the workshop. Please dont install mods manually from the forums - it will not work.
Someone sent me a car using my Polonez Body, which is compliant with the rules.
This is unacceptable though - certain someone installed the mod manually and not by using the steam workshop. Please refrain from doing so. This guy got a second chance but ANY car sent now, will be disqualified without any discussion.
This will also cause problems in any challenge now, so please… ONLY USE STEAM WORKSHOP NOW.
Here is my entry, the Austin Allegro Group B Chrome Edition.
It looks quite ridiculous, because the driver wanted to see while driving at night and also wanted to be seen at all times. The gigantic front wing is the remains of the original plan, that was to put a massive 550 hp engine on the car, but it was shelved since it was both terrible and too expensive. This car makes do with a sensible 4.2 32V V8 though and will hopefully be fast enough, while being liveable enough.
Slight resemblance to a Skoda…this is the SME Sabre GT. Yep, like all of my cars, it is SLOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW.
Expensive, heavy, slow, and crappy. Just like any good American export should be. curtsies
The Pinguin is a family sized wagon and is specifically build for the Eastern market. This car will bring western luxury for a soviet price. It can go that extra mile and offers both power and enough economy. The standard version of the car will be availabe in four happy colours.
I’ve submitted a car.
I’m not very confident about the result because it was based on Znopresk and buil by russians: the Znopresk-ASAZ (Arkhangelsk-Severodvinsk Avtomobil’nyj Zavod) Z220-Est. Based on the old Z200 body and optimized for the Russian market. Still in production after 23 years, I’m not sure it will be a good seller but…
The друг, known in Capitalist land as the Droog, is very good car for glorious Soviet Union.
Built with Rust Resistant Steel frame and Polymer body, is very lightweight for body size.
Engineer decide to make wagon body so seat Healthy Communist family of five with much storage to spare.
Droog has installed inside Large Inline 4 Cylinder for power output over 130 horsepower.
Because 4 Cylinder does not take much room in engine bay, is easy to work on, not much service cost.
Droog has tuned overall suspension to make it good for drive.
Droog also has special made tires to make dirt and messy road easy for drive on.
Light weight and economical engine allow Droog to acheive at least 25 Mile per gallon.
It’s a bit of a standard of mine. Much easier now that I can shift-drag to make duplicates, but I’ve been doing that since I started playing Automation. It’s simple, clean, and road legal just about anywhere, I think. I’ve found it to be one of those arrangements that, with a little tweaking here and there, looks good on just about any car. It helps that this is a body I’ve used an awful lot, as well.
I decided just to keep this one kinda clean. I’ve done some variations with that body style that can get a bit busy, a bit wild, and so I decided to make one that keeps things simple and somewhat classy.
1.4 DOHC Inline 4 with mechanical injection delivers 124 Strops (a.k.a. horsepower ) and 128 Nm of torque delivered on the rear axle. Plus the invention that People’s Republic of Poland has never saw before…

Nice, Jason! Me, I’m going to wait until all of the entries are in before I show off the Tradewind I4, but I can say with reasonable honesty, it’s a whole different beast.
Still, 1400cc isn’t too bad. Keeps the car light, and provides a good healthy chunk of horsepower.
As I said, I will reveal the Tradewind I4 once the entries are in, and I think some people will be in for a surprise.
