In before C5000R becomes a 1.2L turbo-four with hybrid driveline and not enough power with a $60,000 price tag.
This.is.so.sad
C5000R = 500hp. Gib nao
5000hp is more decent
Yeah, but where’s Saminda going to acquire a turbine engine from?
Well, in parallel news, Honda’s managed to get their turbine engine*, the GE Honda HF120, FAA certified and into their new jet plane.
*probably doesn’t put out anywhere near 5000hp though
basically a honda CRZ then?
@strop i don’t think i’ve ever heard of a turbine engine being rated for their HP rating… except maybe in tanks
Yeah no true that, I have no idea how to estimate equivalent in terms of turning thrust rating into kinetic energy (I mean, you can’t do it directly, it’s a completely different method of propulsion). Somebody else is very welcome to try though
Well, a turboshaft engine is a turbine engine. They use 'em in helicopters and tanks, and in turboprop airplanes. I think they’re rated in shaft horsepower, which is basically the equivalent of a flywheel rating on car engines. And some of those get up to stupid numbers.

Why can’t Saminda make a new CZ1 and CZ2. it will sell for people who grew on 80’s and 90’s and we really want to see it in 21st century
What is the most exciting Saminda we see now , Type R and yes only the Type R .
P.S : Japan people are crazy look at that Tokyo Salon CZS
Actually the styling of the Tokyo Salon CZS looks amazing to me.
And can we all agree, Saminda has lost it’s magic? You aren’t living up to your promises!
You teased us with the C2K, now we’re getting sporty looking FWD cars with economy no one wants.
WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO YOURSELF SAMINDA
CZ6 OVER C2KR!!!
So this year we get all the boring cars except Type-R
AND WHY DO FINAL EDITION OF THE CZ6 AND CZS SUCK SO MUCH , WITH STUPID COSMETIC CHANGES ONLY , WE WANT LS SWAP
wow.
asking Saminda that is like asking your grandmother to make a porno. Awkward, disgusting and generally not exciting.
Saminda CEO Yuko Nagoya revealed in a press conference that the next C5 will be based on the same platform with the latest C3 and use a downsized turbo petrol engine.
Saminda will use the new platform for these global models as part of the company’s plan to offer more distinctive cars with a more involving driving experience and attractive design.
The next generation C5 are also set to use a downsized turbo petrol 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter unit to replace it naturally aspirated 2.4-liter and 3.5-liter V6 unit.
Crikey. Such small engines for a car of that size!
Now we really have to deal lawnmower engine in a vehicle.
Well, at least not 1.0 like in a Mondeo
Unless you’re a truckie doing a stopover at Stawell on the Melbourne-Horsham-Adelaide-Perth route
True story, some of the shit I saw for sale on that mag stand can not be unseen
EDIT: Also, consider that a halo car would be kind of exciting given that Ho- I mean Saminda has been obviously capable of building them before. But will it actually do anything for their sales and their real brand image?
Frankly I am strongly considering a Honda Civic for my next car because the car’s quite fresh this time around, though I’ll give it a generation or so to iron out the changes in interface and for them to catch up to the competition in safety equipment offering. In my consideration, I gave approximately zero fucks about the existence of the new NSX. Does any of that really trickle down to the lowly Civic? Hell naw. And that’s reflected in the fact their sales figures did approximately shit all after the NSX arrived, because I think everybody feels the same way I do haha.
I would possibly even have considered C3 Spec-V Sedan, if not for the fact a) it’s only available in the US b) it has less power than its predecessor, which is a pretty big turn-off regardless of how much it actually has.
-
C3 Spec V a huge power down in return of better fuel economy , face palm
-
Upcoming C2KR , claim to be the fastest RWD hatch (not exactly yet) but cost 39k euros and makes 385hp only , facepalm
-
Type R probably a more decent sport car , but it’s FWD.
-
CZ6 is dead
Capable or not , they don’t give two flying f**k anymore and carry on buying the boring sedans.
Oh , and probably their V6 is dead too.
