The all-new Saminda C3 Sedan has finally made its full debut in the United States, bringing with it a completely new design. It also receives upgrades in other departments, including powertrain, chassis, safety and other technologies.
Indeed, the C3 appears to have progressed to the showroom floor pretty much unscathed, sporting the same sweeping roofline, pushed-back A-pillars and low-slung front end. The cleaner, more mature face has also been retained.
Saminda says the new C3 will be safer than before, with a stronger body structure and an upgraded Saminda RECON sense suite of driver assistance features. Saminda has also promised improvements in refinement, ride and handling, as well as new technologies and fuel-efficient engines.
In terms of engines, the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine will be replaced to RJ15 and makes more power than before. Output is now 180 hp and 230 Nm, It will also have a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated engine with 150 hp and 190 Nm. The engines is based for the North America market.
In North America, the new C3 will be built at a new plant in Kansas, United States.

The outgoing C3 GC was the breakout star of the Compact Sedan market when it broke cover at the end of 2015 and it is still very much loved to this day. Let’s see if the 2022 C3 will be as popular as the outgoing model
It’s about time the C3 got a redesign for the new decade - and this one’s definitely a looker, with credit going to Saminda’s exterior designers for keeping it fairly faithful to the original concept, although a proper high-performance trim, which the concept hinted at, would be nice. I’m especially enamored of the concept’s two-door body style and bright blue paintwork, to the point that either of those should be made available later in the production run.
The Saminda tT (Japanese: サミンダ・tT) is a kei car manufactured and marketed by Saminda since 1993, the tT is the cheapest line-up in Saminda for the Japanese market.
The tT has a “tall wagon” configuration to maximize cabin space within kei car dimensional restrictions, The price of the tT starts from 1,158,000 yen
Exterior
Cabin height is a class-leading 1,475mm but despite being so tall and small, Saminda says the tT offers stable handling thanks to overhauled suspension and body structure.
Interior
Saminda says the new tT also offers “substantial storage space.” There’s a dedicated storage space beneath the trunk floor with a capacity of approximately 85 liters. This extends the total trunk height to a maximum of 1,455mm, which means large objects can be loaded upright without folding down the rear seats.
Engine
As all kei cars, the Saminda tT is powered by a 0.66-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 64PS and 90NM of torque mated to a CVT transmission.
