Top American Vehicles was founded in 1978 when Cross, an American sports/super car manufacture, saw that expanding its lineup with SUVs and Trucks would help with making more money. The time poured into making a handmade interior of a Cross super car is immeasurable. Using that time to make cheap, rugged, family cars would be a better decision profits wise. These cheap cars couldn’t bear the luxurious name of Cross though.
Their first vehicle produced would be the 1978 TAC T100 a rugged SUV. Based heavily off of the 1978 Ford Bronco with a price tag of $7403 and a hefty 398 HP DOHC V12. 8 Seats and mediocre top speed means you can go anywhere in the T100
The next vehicle in 1980 would be the S1, this small sports car had a small V6 producing around 144 HP and five seats for the whole family. A top speed of 130 MPH and a price tag of $5867 meant this car was a fast and cheap alternative to any other car similar on the market
Styling could be improved, but its not terrible, just empty atm.
The engine looks okay, although a single eco carb might be a bit too low spec, even for the 80s. Maybe Single Point EFI would be more suitable or at least a 4 barrel carb.
The now aging 70s T100 was due for a new revamp. The T200 was that vehicle. All wheel drive, 432 HP and a manual transmission really brought out the Cross in it. The car sold for about $15000 and had the same big V12 that the older T100 had.
While the SUVs being in the $15000 to $20000 range, there needed to be a more affordable option. Named after the designer who designed it, the TAC Gordon was a family van, with 7 seats, good safety and a suspension designed for maximum comfort, the cheap price tag of $10789 complimented this, with buyers believing they had found a steal.
