Since I’m behind schedule, I decided to break the results up into (three?) parts instead of a single 20-30 minute video. Here’s the first part!
I’m confusion. Does Arstotzka even use metric?
Arstotzka uses whatever units I want, which is usually “Imperial until I have to do math”. I learned to like Meters and Kilograms in engineering classes, but I still can’t say if 8L/100km is good or bad fuel economy off the top of my head, and I can never remember offhand whether 1 kw is more than 1 hp.
I didn’t see mine on the parking lot. Did you forget it or have I bad eyes?
A about 6 cars were missing from the picture. At least one got corrupted and had to re-import, and my computer was slowing down to the point where the interface was hard to use at that point so I called it a day with what I had.
I knew I’d messed up on some level but it was good to see how. Too long out of Automation (this was literally my first build in 4.2 lmao) made me prone to mess up, and I found some very entertaining ways to do it with the trim and WTF suspension I guess
Also great to see exactly how I was called out for future
could have sworn i was at 15K from my calculator seen here
probably highly likely bad use of the calc in my part
And that’s after i adjusted for the new update and re-submitted
Ah well, entertaining all around challenge specially the video. RIP in Pepperoni, Iron Horse. you will never be missed and turned into cans for tuna idk.
My Calculator
Your costs were simply not accurate. It looks like you didn’t notice the change in engine material costs from game version 4.2.6 (carburetors got pricey), you used the engine maintenance cost rather than the trim maintenance cost (it’s found on the “testing” tab) and you probably are using UK gas mileage or something. Even if it snuck under the wire on costs this probably wasn’t going too far though.
That explains it, pretty sure though that iron horse could have caught fire and potentially assassinated one of the council judges by how unsafe and suspiciously western it was. good call on crushing the car lol.
They would probably been better off (and felt better about it, to boot) blowing it up with tank cannons, rocket launchers, homing missiles or machine guns, as seen in this infamous clip from Monster Garage where Jesse James literally disintegrates a car with a Minigun:
And they would have done the same for every car that didn’t make it to the next round, for good measure.
Here’s the next video! We’ve begun to sort out the cars that don’t impress from the cars that deliver compelling performance!
Dear Automotive Council,
Thank you for providing updates on the competition during my completely voluntary stay in one of your most excellent reeducation facilities. I am extremely pleased to hear the GSI was not immediately eliminated despite my ill advised espionage efforts on behalf of corrupt capitalist warmongers. Glory to Arstotzka.
just fyi, I’m not russian
If it matters, my car being from Italy would influence the pronunciation: Pezzo “Pet-zo”, like Pizza. And Citta “Chi-ta”, like Ciao.
Yep, kind of a meme-name. I do like how the car came out though… More lives up to its actual namesake and not its implied namesake!
Here’s part 3!
It occurs to me I should probably have been pinging people when their car is in the results. If you were in one of the last two videos, hopefully you didn’t miss it.

I’m really enjoying these video reviews. Do you have an ETA on the finale? Thanks!
I started working full time so it’s been hard to work on the video. Definitely going to get some effort in this weekend, but not exactly sure when I’ll get finished.
Congrats on the job
