The Car Shopping Round (Round 64): Tears in Heaven

I think the Leeroy Racing catalogue has something for you, Mr Vercetti…

Presenting the 2016 Leeroy Decadence!!!

Taking inspiration from various versions of the Bogliq Ambassador available the world over, the Leeroy Decadence is a ground up resto-mod designed to revel in the excesses of the past without drawing too much attention in the present…

Very fast, rather frugal and so easy to drive that you’ll be able to double-wield mac-10’s without losing control; this car is truly decadence on wheels…

It also is no slouch on a racetrack, although this is not this cars primary purpose. And all this for $300k driveaway; no strings (or serial numbers) attached!

Buy better, buy Bogliq!

[hide=]Truth be told, there’s no car my company makes that can hold a candle to some of the hypercars that are being entered into this round - and boy, they look fantastic by the way - so I decided enter my company’s very best. And in turn, I decided to show it off as best I can.

The Scarlet is a drivers car. It’ll happily compete with other premium sports cars in its price range, but its killer difference is how it drives. How it makes you feel. Sure, this is the most advanced car Erin has ever made. But what matters is that wherever you drive it, however you drive, whatever you do in it, it feels like the best car in the world.

In town, its simple and easy. On a motorway, its quiet and comfortable. On a twisty backroad over the Yorkshire Dales, its as close to perfection as you’ll get. This trim is the X 3.8, the top of the range. The ultimate 2 seater sports car from the company that’s been building and racing them since 1959.

The steering is sharp but not twitchy. It feels dynamic and responsive. It’s hydraulic - none of that electric nonsense - so you feel the wheels properly. The suspension is an advanced active setup with an uncomplicated control system that adapts to the road. Engage X Mode and it firms up to provide an uncompromising and balanced ride that will let you fully experience the brilliance of the engineering behind this car.

The engine is a 3.8l Flat-plane V8. It bellows its way to 9400 rpm and knocks out 523 bhp, and sends all that to the wheels via a 7 Speed DCT box. 0-60 in 4.2 seconds*. Top speed: 209 mph.

All-aluminium construction, 51/49 F/R weight distribution and a well proportioned wheelbase**; this car has been designed to be lightweight and nimble from the ground up. The chassis is, without a doubt, a masterpiece.

On a day-to-day basis, this car is fantastic. Superbly reliable, comfortable even on poorer road surfaces and fairly practical too; in exchange for the lack of rear seats (pointless anyway), you get a proper sized boot. And sure, it’s nothing to write home about, but with an average economy of 21.1 mpg, it’s decently efficient for this sort of car too.

And then just look at it. Classic sports car lines meet sharpened up, clean cut 21st century design. Its a joy to behold from every angle. By no means a beautiful car, but certainly a stunning one.

This is not the fastest car here. But it doesn’t need to be; this is for the refined driver. The one who wants something to blast about in on a Sunday afternoon and then commute through the city on Monday morning. Look no further than the Erin Scarlet X.

*In reality, with the aids of traction control and launch control, this car would have a 0-60 time of sub-3.5 seconds. But, the only way to achieve that realistically in the game currently is via AWD, and including that would kill the spirit of this machine. So instead, it’s 4.2 seconds.

**While this body in particular has a WB of 2.74m, in reality, the Scarlet would be quite a lot smaller, more in the 2.5/2.6m range. Akin to a Jaguar F-Type, Aston Martin Vantage, Mercedes AMG GT etc…

I like that quote.

Those are some of the slickest brochures I have ever seen.

Also, it’s great to see such a diverse mix of machinery in this round, what with the extremely liberal requirements we were given.

It’s not forbidden to submit a different trim of a car you already once submitted right?

@Kubboz would Mr V be automatically disappointed with that?

Definitely not against the rules of the entire thread, just in case somebody wasn’t quite sure about that. You can even submit the exact same car to different rounds if you like.

It’s kind of tempting to modernise my Infernus just for that purpose, but too many people are making supercars, and I just feel that their low ride height makes getting in and out a right bitch…

Really? Well, now it’s almost tempting to send the Avellca out for another hopelessly outclassed luxury shootout…Although I’m thinking my latest concept vehicle for Maesima would actually almost fit in this round.

But I’m hoping DHB has the right vehicle for the job

So this is the JHW Imperator

a nice suburbanite SUV, right?

well, not quite. it has only 4 seats (sumptuous, mind you), and weighs 3 tons or so.

BUT, it does 0-62 in 3.7 seconds and hits a top speed of 188mph

but how? well…

7.0L V12 twin turbo developing over 1000hp and over 800lb-ft of tourque, all fed through a highly tuned 9 speed auto and a 40/60 AWD system for the fastest comfort a legitimate business man could ask for.

this is for Mr. Vercetti

Sorry, do you mind if I just park my helicopter on the roof of the Imperator?

It’s massive! :open_mouth:

It’d be well up for it!

Edit: after a few days of mulling over what I would build, I have had a brainwave. I doubt it will be the best at any particular thing, and it will probably have the same internals and similar stats to everything else since I suspect everybody is either using M-AWD or F-AWD. And I had to compromise a lot of my usual practices to get it working… but by god it will look good.

You’re a gentleman of many contradictions. On one hand, you’re known for your good taste, subtlety and nuance. On the other hand, you have a habit of removing people’s teeth with a claw hammer. The GSI Eviscerator is an ultra-luxury sedan designed with you in mind. Old school presence combined with modern technology. Quiet serenity blended with organ-crushing performance. Aluminum and carbon fiber. Marble flooring and crystal chandeliers. Ten liters and fourteen hundred horsepower. Eighteen ashtrays and a twelve corpse trunk capacity. When you’re a man on a mission, accept nothing but the best tool for the job.

Dear associate,

We were gladdened to hear of Mr Vercetti’s recent enquiry into purchasing a car to suit such an upstanding businessman as he is. We at Bravado felt that to commemorate this occasion, we would like to entrust him with a unique example of a car that he has most certainly been fond of for many years. How do we know this? Because we happen to know that most of the Bravado Banshees ever sold to residents of Vice City will find their way into the hands of a Mr Vercetti one way or another.

Therefore, it would be our absolute pleasure to gift to you this one-off Bravado Banshee Vice Edition, with every part the timeless presence and impact. Yet what is it that is so special about this particular model that will ensure that this is the Banshee you keep? It has a little extra. Actually, a lot extra. A lot more power, a lot more traction. It has AWD. It has a lot more creature comforts. It’s safer and reinforced and simply heftier, so you don’t have to worry about pesky traffic getting in your way. And it’s tuned to handle just as precisely as the original, so you remain in control at all times.

We hope you find this suitable to your needs, Mr Vercetti, but more importantly, we hope it doesn’t disappoint your desires.

That car definitely looks like (and in fact is) a proper tribute to one of my many favorite cars in GTA IV and V: the (standard) Bravado Banshee. That thing is pure awesomeness!

And the Banshee variant introduced in a recent patch for the next-gen ports is called the 900R, which has a widebody kit and is only obtainable by converting a standard Banshee for a hefty sum. I fully understand why you preferred the base model, though…

thanks. The main problems I had: 1) why is there no door handle on the original Banshee!? D:< 2) The front end looked a bit plain so I added another vent there to make it look a bit more sculpted. 3) I couldn’t put the BANSHEE text on the rear diffusor because the S wouldn’t go where I wanted it to 4) The hood is different, but that’s less of a problem.

I also didn’t want to put a wing on the rear lip so I decided to forgo good aero. I know there’s a DLC for GTA V that has a wing on it but I don’t think that whole trim package is to Mr Vercetti’s tastes…
