I’m not submitting it because it’s not good enough for the competition, IMO. I’ve got a couple of other options that are much better suited for what Tommy Vercetti wants.
wait… quality sliders on the tires are allowed here right?? i remember one of the challenges had that rule, but can’t remember which
Read OP. No tyre quality.
oh ok. it is this one. i must’ve missed that. thx.
Solo Motors Co. has received a request from an anonymous Vice City business mogul for a new personal vehicle. We hope this custom Vice City edition of the Solo Rhino SSM-C is up to your tastes.
First, let us list the differences the VC model has compared to the standard SSM-C. First, larger wheels made of carbon fibre. The AHS steel frame and aluminium panels are also now carbon fibre. Everything has also been suitably reinforced with bullet proof areas around the passenger space and ram bars hidden in both bumpers. The drivetrain been completely replaced, the cabin is of the high quality hand-crafted variety with high quality luxury electronics, all designed and assembled by our luxury Diamond Automotive division. The VIP package is also part of this VC model, with a siren, front and rear VIP strobe lights, and limousine privacy tint. We also got wind that you’re an airplane and helicopter enthusiast, so we’ve fitted a large opening sunroof above the front seats for a better view of aircrafts. The whole package is painted in metallic black, for that prestigious look that easily blends into the crowd when you don’t want to draw much attention.
Let’s go into the engine and performance figures… It’s a 9.0L DOHC V12 designed for racing, but with a performance intake replacing the race intake for lower service costs and improved reliability. We’ve also made it run on 98 RON, which is much more readily available, especially since you can expect just over 13 MPG from this ride. The naturally aspirated design produces 1004 HP at 7800 RPM and 733 ft-lb of torque with a fairly flat delivery. Paired to a 40/60 AWD system and 7 speed dual-clutch sequential transmission, 0-100 km/h is done in 2.6 seconds, 80-120 in 1.2 seconds, the quarter mile in 10 seconds, and going to a top speed of 342 km/h. Yes, this thing is faster than many supercars. Huge carbon ceramic brakes can stop the Rhino SSM-C VC from 100 km/h in under 32 m while the suspension allows it to pull nearly 1.2 G while cornering. Did we mention it does all this while weighing 1915 kg and having nearly 30 cm of ground clearance?
Inside, you’ll find four luxuriously hand-crafted seats and a large cargo area in the back. Should you decide to purchase this vehicle, the materials and colours used can be ordered to your specifications, but we went ahead and made the demonstration model with a white leather interior, white gold accents, and African birch wood trim. As for electronics, you will find all available driving assists, a 21-speaker sound system of the highest quality, integrated media HDD, touch screen infotainment system, all types of wireless connectivity, onboard internet, GPS, as well as media and conference screens. All of it can be voice activated, of course.
We’ve had our engineers and designers from Solo, SDS, and Diamond working overtime to properly develop this bespoke SUV and hope it is to your liking as a hyper sport utility limousine. It can outrun and outmaneuver supercars, go offroad, provide the utmost luxury and security, all while exuding class. At $536,400, we don’t think you’ll find better value for the quality and equipment offered here.
(I’ve offered the oddball SUV for a couple of rounds already and I wasn’t going to change soon. Updating my CSR14 submission was the right fit for this round.)
I never knew Solo competed in Group C races back in the 80s…
It’s for the V12 truck races run in San Andreas’ Blaine County. They’re not too popular yet, but there’s a growing audience
it’s gonna be a battle between us two
I see you’ve got the same AWD system… I’ll need to check the engineering department for a mole.
Whereas yours has more power it is slower because of the automatic, but likely has higher comfort from that transmission choice. It will all depend on what Mr. Vercetti prefers. It’s also a battle between naturally aspirated and forced induction.
With a 700 cubic inch DOHC V12 under the hood pumping out just shy of 1300hp this CPV Black edition of the Centauri Buffalo is one of the most powerful cars available on the roads. (no relation to any GTA buffalo)
This is the heavy duty special, carbon fiber panels bolted to a AHS steel monocoque, heavy duty steels wheels with decent sidewalls, a 200mm ride height and a full steel skidplate ensure that jumps, curb strikes, and offroading won’t slow you down. sport tires rather than slicks ensure good all weather traction. the 6 speed dual clutch transmission gets you to 60 in 4.5 seconds, through the quartermile in under 12 seconds, through a kilometer in under 20, and on to a top speed of 250mph. on a winding course like the the ring it pulls in a very impressive 7:22 while still returning 16 mpg US
Wow, I REALLY like that frontend, only thing I would change is the hoodscoop for a lower one. It reminds me of a skyline, awesome work!
Your entry is one of the most outlandish cars I have ever seen - a super-GT with additional off-road capability, but the Solo Rhino SSM-C from @thecarlover is even more insane, since it’s essentially an SUV which has been turned into a hypercar. I never wanted to build and submit such a behemoth, though, because too much extra weight would clearly hurt economy, performance and handling. Also, after reading the OP I quickly realized that practicality and utility were almost meaningless to me.
Edit: Even though my entry had 100% carbon fibre panels and chassis, the addition of a luxury interior and infotainment, combined with the AWD system, pushed the weight to 1767.8 kg, which is heavy for a hypercar, but not too heavy (or light) in absolute terms.
While the handling is definitely a reason to be wary of piling on the extra weight, it’s offset by the fact that in Vice City Tommy spends a lot of time ramming cars out of the way, and for those purposes, heavy is good Decisions, decisions…
So, my 900kg track car is the most dangerous car… Hurrah…
Since Kubby said “GTA damage model”, it won’t actually make your car any more dangerous, it just means you’ll simply bounce off other cars haha.
After all, everybody knows that without exception the fastest way to kill a car short of blasting it with an RPG is to land it on its roof…
but it’s only the most dangerous to Mr.Vercetti. mine is the most dangerous to the rest of Vice City’s population.
Ah well due to our cars killing their occupants by carbon monoxide poisoning DSD cannot afford to build a high end car anymore
I’m not sure I’ll compete in this round… I simply have no idea how to top some of models already presented…
It IS difficult. In actual fact I think as far as stats go, my car is probably on the lower end of things (yeah, lower end, with 1000bhp).
So I’m hoping to make up for it with presence and style. And not having to shoehorn a nearly 60-something year old frame into something as low and snug as a Lambo.
