2016 - Maesima begins partnership with Saminda Motor Company into the research and development of lithium-ion battery cell technology. Here the plans for the companies all electric vision come together. At that year’s Paris Auto Show Maesima unveil its vision of “Greater efficiency at no cost to safety or driving performance to our customers!” Maesima displayed advanced technologies designed to improve the average fuel economy of our vehicles sold globally 25 percent by 2020 compared to 2015 levels.
This was one of the goals of Maesima’s long-term vision for technological development. At the same time development was undertaken to produce a viable Electric vehicle alongside its existing ICE lineup. That same year Maesima launched its luxury division Sachiuri Motors, with a lineup of sedans. But since the setting out these goals the global automotive landscape has changed as customer tastes and regulations. Reports show that “global sales for sedans slows and minivans lose out to the ever growing SUV boom.”
Plans for an all new electric sedan under Maesima were abruptly cancelled in favour of a clean sheet design for Sachiuri. Something bold and clever with a clear vision. This new 2019 EV has to make a statement. It will represent the future of the company. While all-new and electric the technology is not yet available to showcase so the mockup vehicle will be powered by a conventional Maesima ICE powertrain which will have no impact on your design judgement.
The new EV will be build on the companies existing M-platform, this is a transverse engine placement with macpherson strut front sub assembly and multilink rear suspension sub assembly. The platform can be stretched from 2.5m to 3.0m although the target market is a compact to mid-size crossover.
You will be creating a near production ready concept for Sachiuri that will debut this year at an upcoming automotive show and signal the design direction for the companies first all-electric vehicle. Now you can choose if you want to be submitting as a partnering automotive company, design studio or automotive designer.

Styling
- The appearance of the new EV is vital to selling the vehicle; of course, it has to be attractive and all, but here are some tips to help you with designing for our brand.
- Sachiuri’s design philosophy is “Evoco” which was introduced in 2016 and defined creating a vehicle that is both luxurious yet sporty. It evokes and entices with dynamic flowing lines and an unmistakable design.
- Sachiuri’s design must be sporty, luxurious, innovative and unique yet must be instantly recognisable as a Sachiuri
- Don’t be afraid to take risks; after all, this EV is a sporty crossover that defies convention, not your standard ICE vehicle.
- These representatives of Sachiuri’s current design lineup. Showcasing some examples of our “Evoco” design ethos and signature “Cascade” grill design.
Design Hints on the front grill design
Key elements to the front grill design are:
- Green: The chrome bar accross the vehicle,
- Blue: The main cascade grill
- Red: The second part of the cascade grill design are the diamond vents either side.
- This isn’t a hard rule for how it should look and check out the current lineup for examples of how this can modified played with as long as the styling is distinctively Sachiuri
