Hello everybody.

Everyone knows Top Gear, everyone hates the “new” Top Gear by Chris Evans (who got sacked thankfully) and everyone waits for “The Grand Tour”.
If you were lucky to get into the recordings: Don’t spoil it for everyone, its great stuff coming up, just shut up :stuck_out_tongue:

Every Episode younger than 7 days shall be discussed in [SPOILER] Tags here [spoiler]like this so noone can get spoiled[/spoiler]. I.e. this weeks Episode should be in Tags until the next Episode releases.
Everything that is NOT relevant to the episode - like general discussion - does not have to be put inside of spoiler tags.

I will also do a unlisted “Stream” (link will follow) for people that cannot watch TGT in their country - but thats sadly not possible on YouTuub - after 4m of Stream the video was blocked. Damn good this Content-ID.

Currently watching the episode and I have to say I thought BBC cinematography was good but daaaamn this is a whole nother level!

I just finished watching it - AMAZING. Cinematography is above BBC levels - the “studio” feels like much more. Movie-esque! Felt like Top Gear just… better. I keep most stuff in Spoilers now, i dont want to spoil people who didnt watch EP1 - you should totally watch it though if you liked Top Gear even a little.

Episode Specific:
[spoiler]I talked about that in the IRC already. Its amazing and all… but also very weird. Everyone waited for the “holy trinity”. Its was as expected - the LaFerrari was probably borrowed from the owner, but its plates hidden away so Ferrari cannot piss around. Sadly its not Jennifer now, but mind you: His house was demolished in September… !
The VW Joke about the Porsches fuel consumption was great… The opening was so sad… really onion cutting.
The “shitty” thing was the RAF/USAF thing… meh. Unnessecary.

The American was weird…i was not 100% convinced in him [spoiler]didnt change my mind since i was in the Stuttgart Taping with @NormanVauxhall [/spoiler] YES we hav a race driver, YES he talks, but its weird. I hope he will be less MURICA V8 M8 ONLY R8 8/8 on V8 in the other episodes.

Coversation Street is… well… a supplement for “The News” - cant work if they tape it now and release it in 12+ Weeks - news will be very old by then. Understandable they made it “weird” like this, I hope the other episodes will be better since they were not filmed a fuck ton of weeks ago.

The Star was… great. Although killing off all 3 seemd a bit… foolish and shit. I think they will kill it of Season 2 because “it didnt work”

I could try to upload something to my server so you can stream it from there - but i dunno how butthurt amazon is about that. I tried to do an unlisted stream on YouTube, it got cutoff after 3 minutes of doing so.

[spoiler]I quite liked it, it felt very different to TG and the ‘‘American’’ gave me a giggle.

Not sure how I feel about the new track, seems kind of small.[/spoiler]

I actually really like the new track, but I don’t think it’s better than the old one in terms of technicality

I disliked the opening.

I liked the overall vibe of the show.

I hated the new track [spoiler]it’s weird, small and not very much technical, it’s not the sort of track where you want to test your automation cars :stuck_out_tongue:. Also the part with the new american driver felt a little cringy. But other than that I liked the episode. I can’t wait to see budget car challanges. [/spoiler]

Design already gave us a link and another option is watchseries. They just throttle download speeds to prepare to be enraged by a lot of buffering.

First episode in HD. Yes, the title doesn’t say it is the GT clearly, (rather the “New Top Gear”), but it is. And yes, it is a Polish site, but it’s in English and even with English subtitles (at least for now, IDK if they won’t change them to Polish ones).

Not sure if spoiler tags are actually necessary on this one, but anywho.

[spoiler]The first episode was great. In fact, even better than I expected.

One thing though, I was hoping the episode(s) to be more location-specific. They travelled all the way to California only for the studio/tent segment, while the meat of the episode was still shot in other parts of the world.
Not really a criticism, I just expected them to fully embrace the format of travelling to a new place for each episode. Maybe it’ll change with future episodes, maybe not.

Still, as I said, great episode. Can’t wait for next week.[/spoiler]
