I could’ve been vaguer with further hints but I gave a more revealing one cause I was legitimately afraid I’d have to have been giving out hints while soaking in the Mediterranean in a couple days

I was gonna guess this, but I misremembered the taillights, so I didn’t guess lol
It wasn’t the hints that helped me along, it was just looking more closely at the photo 
Something a little easier this time:
The Tribute was essentially a first-gen Ford Escape by another name, although there are a few external differences (such as the light clusters).
As for the latest pic, my guess is that it’s a Toyota Celica 5th-gen (ST183/ST185).

I had no idea the fifth gen looked like that at the back at some point since I’d only seen the facelifted one around. That’s really ugly actually lol.
@abg7 Yeah the first gen Tribute was a bit more differentiated from the Escape (Maverick in Europe) compared to the second gen where all the metalwork was the same as the Escape. The pictured first gens had at least different hoods, fenders and rear quarter panels vs the Escape/Maverick.
