The year is 1950:

Motor Union is proud to reveal its new project: a racecar!
Yes, you heard right. The company is working on a racecar to enter the 1951 racing season. The engineering team took their reliable I6 engine and heavily modified it to produce an impressive 150 PS and 204 Nm of torque. You may ask, “Why?” Well, it’s very simple. The leadership of Motor Union has always loved racing, but never had a chance to participate. Now, with the company’s engineering team, the Slepnir has been developed to compete in races with neighboring countries, and maybe some local ones. The team may win, or it may lose. Either way, it is a great step forward for the company since a lot will certainly be learned from this project. For obvious reasons, the achievements are not going to be shared, but you can expect some of them to be used to improve future vehicles. Shown here are some photographs taken during testing. Company management is obviously not going to race, but folks brave enough to do so have already been found. You can stay tuned.

PS: Yes i forgot to put someone in it………

It should be added: Yes, I have given permission to do a racecar as a bonus submission. That’s because there is no motorsports part of this challenge, unlike for example LHC, so I see it as similar to if you would do a bus or similar. The “no cars” rule was just to not squeeze in a fourth regular car. It should also be added that the bonus submissions will not get full reviews anyhow, just a short snippet probably.

Harvholm Coachworking Association (HCA)

HCA has long been a supplier of wagons, carriages and service vehicles to the people of Ránmark, from farmers to cab drivers. When it became clear motorised vehicles would become widely permitted HCA saw a clear threat to their current sales leading them to seek to stay up to date and buy a license and tooling for a pre-war chassis, engine and gearbox to build vehicles onto.

1946 HCA Svalborg

Available with 3 standard bodies: a van, a pickup truck, and a wagon, or with whatever coach working is relevant to a buyer at an extra charge. The Svalborg is named for the capital, a modern metropolitan utopia, but is well adapted to Ránmark and its agricultural roads, using the well tested mechanics of a sturdy horse carriage except with a 2.2L I4 engine putting out 54hp matched with a 3-speed manual in place of the horse. Its engine is set up so that with fettling, it can run off almost anything that could charitably be called petrol, running very retarded compared to most modern engines.

1950 HCA Ravnik

HCA’s first significant engineering project was a light tractor using a 1.6L diesel engine based on the engine from the Svalborg, and similarly, it used a 4-speed gearbox based on the Svalborg’s, with a much higher final ratio and an extra gear to provide 2 gears for farm work at or below 5mph and 2 to tow trailers at up to 25mph. For most people of Velkarja it’s an affordable improvement to a draught horse.

Extra Lore

C.E.A.N. is an Argentinean consortium created as a single company for the main national automotive companies, in order to gain a stronger foothold on export markets and share the same dealership network. Even though many brands comprised this enterprise, Fitz and Pandani were chosen to be the first brands to be exported to Velkarja. Fitz was founded in 1930, it’s main focus are work trucks and LUVs, oriented to agricultural and logistic industries. It will be the first brand to reach Velkarja under CEAN, since it proved succesful in Letara (LHC), while Pandani was created in 1940 as an answer to the lack of imported vehicles during WW2. It focuses mainly on city cars and other low cost vehicles, with a very small branch of light sportscars.

Well, a kind of early 48h reminder (I was planning on going for a MTB ride and it feels a bit stupid if the host kills himself by updating discourse on a slope or something), but 6 PM CEST is the time when 48 hours remains…

It should be said that I haven’t double checked, so there’s always the possibility that some of you haven’t included everything from your ads in your subs, and vice versa, so please check and fix if you’re unsure.

Also a reminder of a rule that almost everyone seems to forget. I want a screenshot of the TP you’re intending to use included with your submissions! No hard feelings, it is a kind of unusual rule but it will make sense in this long running, large challenge, so I expected some teething problems.

" I want a screenshot of the TP you’re intending to use included with your submissions!"

Thanks for the reminder. Will get that taken care of before the deadline.

The import company Phillipps is happily accepting being ask to supply Velkarja with useful vehicles. We usually exported Hetvesian vehicles, and after the country was at war, the car industry slowly started producing their 1939 models again with a few modern adaptions.

Burgwart P9

The car for the people from East Hetvesia. Made in Schuffental, but made for the world. A 1939 design made from Röhrich, Berlaus popular car brand before the war. With the remainings of the assembly line in the east, the car has been prepared for a launch already one year after the war ended.

It has everything you need for basic driving. Not more, but not less. Durable and capable of moving two adults and two children at a guaranteed long-term speed of 80 kph. Is capable of 100 if you are in a hurry.
Indicators are optional but can be installed by the importer.

Primus GP (General Purpose)

The west Hetvesian part of Röhrich in Berlau had a part of the jeep assembly line left. It is sold under the new brand name Primus.
It is hardly of use for civillian purposes outside of offroad terrain. But there, it now is a good tool for peaceful use in forestry, hunting or transport to rural areas.

The Aero Move

4 perfectly normal, cute small cars. Nothing unusual here!

About Aero

Aero is a Japanese mass-market brand that prides itself in making small, reliable cars with high build quality and low ownership costs. It’s particularly known for its microcars and kei cars, but these are not its sole focus. There’s also an arm of the company that builds consumer-oriented watercraft.

About the Move

1940’s Aero didn’t have the resources it needed to really focus on the Velkarjan market; but their cars already had a focus on low-cost, high-refinement transport that should have been perfect for a recovering, poorer market. So Aero still made a point to get its models on sale in the country hoping to establish a reputation and network for future growth.

Their debut model? The cheap and cheerful Move. This particularly cute microcar, on 1.8m wheelbase, had a 787cc engine good for 23 horsepower, which on a good day might eventually get you to 100. It was also surprisingly expensive upfront, owing to it’s high degree of build quality; but thanks to its extreme fuel economy, rock-bottom service costs, and excellent rust protection, the Move would definitely pay itself off over the pretty-long life it intended to lead.

The move came in a standard coupe and wagon, as well as a light truck. The truck traded the rear seats/trunk for an open bed; intended for light delivery and yard work, it was hardly the most potent of trucks, but had the Move’s long-term reliability and low running costs up its sleeve. The Move could also be upgraded with a 1.0L engine, as well as with a better-padded interior, and an improved safety package.

And then there’s just that character; a front double-wishbone gives it some actually pretty neat driving character. The cars are also adorable, with their cute, beady eyes, asymmetrical rear lights, and special pop-out turn semaphores on every model! Aero was banking on the Move’s charm, combined with its longevity and long-term value proposition, to help this foreign automaker stand out in this unknown country.

About the Jon Boat

Oh, Aero isn’t just a car manufacturer. It also has a division for making watercraft! Like this Jon boat!

As Aero was establishing itself in Velkarja for the first time, they made a point to promote the maritime side of their business as well as the land one; in a country that still relied so heavily on water transport, Aero hoped their line of basic-but-customizable, consumer-oriented marine products would also the brand gain a following and a reputation, for both work and play.

…there’s not as much to say about the boat itself, I admit. It’s a boat. This one’s pretty basic, just an aluminum tub with some benches, and a board on the back where you could put a motor. You could add on accessories as needed.
