Yes, it is I and with another challenge for y’all!
It’s the 90s, and there has been a surge of small sport cars coming out that fall into a specific category for tax reasons! Some of these cars have became icons with their tiny engines that prioritize fun, over anything else! As if they were motorbikes with 4 wheels…
Today, join me, on “Brake line”, the motoring show of Fruinia is, as we review some of these legends… After
A few words from our sponsors…

For the wheel base, does any value in 2.4m count or is the maximum 2.4m? For example I have a car that’s 2.46m, am I allowed to use that? If so, maybe maximum wheelbase should not exceed 2.5m? Could add a bit more variety aswell
With the maximum displacement akin to Kei Car regulations, I’d definitely advise having a lenient but reasonable max wheelbase sat at ~2.4m or ~2.35m, definitely needs comparison to the bodies in game as some are Kei sized but not necessarily Kei regulation, just near enough or below.
I understand the idea is for “Kei Sports Cars”, but what if the capacity limit was boosted to maybe sub-1L? So 1000cc or less which is still well within the realm of ‘motorbike on 4 wheels’, especially since a) it could be entirely possible for some of these cars to have used an altered motorbike engine, b) you see evidence of manufacturers using larger engines in their kei cars for export markets (which would make sense in my personal opinion if you wanted to try and make a more profitable car for more markets), and c) to try to have more variety in submissions if someone wanted to do ‘european’ or ‘american’ cars but the engine size could feel like it restricts it to ‘asian’ (even if a Kei legal Caterham was attempted).
While a lot of kei cars were NA, some of them did have turbo options. Especially the more sportier models. If the max cc is increased to 1000 should there be a turbo multiplayer (1.3 * X for example)? So a 700 cc engine with a turbo is considered a 910 cc engine. And then would there be limitations to turbo size, maximum bar allowed etc
I know small bodies are rare for automation that’s why I went with just a wheelbase instead of exact dimensions regulations, so yeah, I might even ease up on it a bit more. Just add for priority that we’re looking for Kei inspired cars mainly. As it’s the judging criteria.
Since we are talking about kei cars, do all the official requirements of a kei car apply, as in dimension limitations, max 660 cc engine with 64 hp, etc…
I don’t get why fuel consumption is only a 1 star priority, given that these cars are meant to be fuel economic whilst staying fun
Is it on the stable version or can we add some superchargers (which would be pretty fun to do)
This is a simplified version of those rules, Sadly automation doesn’t offer a lot of bodies or freedom in kei car designs in terms of bodies, Think of it as a alternate universe kei cars with looser regulations.
I mean they are meant to be sporty version of economical cars, it’s one star because it has to be marginally worse than the competition to actually be considered as a negative to the car.
I was planning to keep it on stable because people like that more. If people want otherwise, lemme know.
May I suggest no negative techpool, no negative quality, and a minor realism check to stop some cheesemobiles from showing up? Not sure that a kei car from the 90s would have full active suspension components or ESC.
I I clouded realism as a 3 star priority, I might put a cap on minus quality and tp, because I can believe se corners were cut to achieve some stuff… I made that do that…
What I’m trying to say is that I won’t ban negative quality and tp, but limit it
