Top15 sports car challenge (1st Strop 1:12.19 airfield)

is ur efficiency in american or british mpg? just making sure sorry for the inconvenience :unamused:

Also i appreciate the participation this is stating to be fun lets see who gets the best time

Well, for those who like to go fast instead of sideways, Garcia motors had to unleash the Sports Coupe RS4, same engine, but AWD. We had to put a air filter to cope with the reliability issues because of the AWD, its unreliability and extra costs leading to save on other parts, spoiled the reliability, economy and the power, had to rethink the whole car, but was able to crack under 1:17, and scored a lap of 1:16:93! (used semi slicks, forgot that rule, sorry, will update later

Of course, this is all yet to be confirmed or completed, but warning shots have been fired:

Unless, of course, Iā€™ve messed up and forgotten to read some of the rules. Iā€™ll have to go back and check >_>

Note: The car has been stripped out, uses 100RON, has been decatted. demuffled, and uses somewhat upgraded sport compound tyresā€¦ so by no means is it a market car as tested!

(But I have confirmed it meets all the requirements. I shall send it through once Iā€™m done tweaking it a littleā€¦ and had a haircutā€¦)

Ok I updated the post and ill be glad to take more entrances from different people  the more the better and the better the time the more competitive it becomes. Also I encourage all those that cant beat the 1st time to participate.Do your best to make something that would saty in the top 15

Edit: Might I recommend you also add fuel economy to top 15 list  It would be cool to see who sacrificed the most to get to the top imo.

Now I am not the fastest, but I put this together for fun.

For its upcoming celebration of its 50th year, LHE (Left Hemisphere Enginering Automotive Corp) came up with a special, limited production retro styled version of its orginial little sports car, the X4R8d. Staying true to its roots, the modern classic is priced sensibly while still providing all the excitement of a high end sports car.

Have fun laughing guys!

Featuring LHEā€™s classic 1667cc pushrod inline-4 with all of todays tech thrown at it.
Making 297hp, and 269 lb-ft of torque, this little monster still turns 32.6mpg (US)

I wanna start off this post, by saying this was fun. Iā€™m going to keep working on mine.

Also, it seems like the top person right now, didnā€™t reach the fuel economy goal. Less than 14l/100km Unless I am wrong?

Iā€™ve got 1.17.97 out of my car so far.

I am using US MPG, so itā€™s above the 16.8 requirement, it was less than 16,000 dollars, and only weighs 1052.7 kg.

Nice submission!

As for our current leader, Lt/100Km the lower the better, so to beat 14lt/100km, you need to be lower then 14. So he just made it.

Ah. I see where I went wrong. I was thinking in MPG terms, where higher is better. :stuck_out_tongue: I have no clue how he got a mid engine to do that. The mid engine one I wanted to use, couldnā€™t even fit a tiny engine in it. I have to go back to the drawing board tomorrow!

LEADERBOARDS UPDATED

thanks again for the participation for all of you making this something fun.

Manche got disqualified sin he/she has a efficiency of 12.5MPG my bad for no realizing before.Anyways you are more than welcome to resubmit another vehicle(or the same one) that meets the minimun requirements to participate.

If youā€™re using a small MR body, try fitting it transversely. Both the Giugiaro wedge and the small modern MR fit larger engines that way. Though with the engine Iā€™m using, itā€™s only 2.4L and then the fun part is trying to fit twin-scrolls in without making the length too long :stuck_out_tongue:

As you can see, itā€™s not the most powerful engine on this board by a long shot. However, the MR cars in Automation have one big advantage: you donā€™t have to AWD to get maximum performance because using a heavier engine puts more weight on the rear wheels, giving better launch. Second, all the MR cars accomodate ridiculously wide rear tyres, and the less weight up front means you can have narrower front wheels = saves money. Also, you can put both wings on the rear no problem, and if you add active wing, youā€™ll maximise benefit whatever your settings may be.

Also, the small MR car is light. Never mind the output, the power to weight ratio is far superior:

Here we are, looking every bit the budget sports car. Except stripped out as this one is, with such a ridiculous engine, I would expect more like supercar performance.

I couldnā€™t be bothered using active suspension. Itā€™s expensive, heavy, and you canā€™t tweak things as much to your liking. Using some old school tuning, this thing will out-drag and out-corner a Huayra, Huracan, F12ā€¦ take your pick. Its Green Hell time is also pretty quick too :sunglasses:

p.s. if anybody would like it, I do have the .lua files all zipped up ready to submit.
*Minimum requirements

-less than 2500 cc
-must cost less than 16.000$
-fuel efficiency better than 14 l/100km ----16.8mpg US-----20.1mpg UK
-weight less than 1400kg
-sportiness higher than 40
-Reliability higher than 65
-safety higher than 25
-No semi slicks
-Year 2015
-2 or 3 door
I just realized, the leader actually was using semi slicks! I was wondering why I couldnā€™t get below 17 no mater how hard I tried. D:

Also, I donā€™t think that car you just posted will ever be beaten. I canā€™t even get near that, even with a MR set up lol.

Perhaps so, but fear not, sport tyres will still allow you to get well into the 1:15s, maybe beyond, with the right adjustments to that body!

I spent about an hour balancing out all of the suspension to get the best lap time I could. I think I need an engine with a flatter torque curve, than the really high revving one that has a huge jump halfway up the power band.

Sorry Corbanx I use us mpg. My revision will be posted in metric.

Sports Coupe revision!

it was with semi slicks!

now with sports compound tires

My turn, 2nd least powerful (currently) butā€¦ letā€™s see my 2 litres of fun
