Touch of Class [1978] [REVIEW POSTED]

Hello everyone. I present the newest creation from F.I.L. (Fabbrica Italiana Lampredi)

The FIL COK 1982/3 DOHC
Luxurious Coupe, high comfort, beautiful engine.

Introducing the 1978 Rutland Capercaillie, in the top of the range Limited trim exclusive for North American market.

Rutland Motors, a relatively unknown small company from the UK is in uncharted waters here, having only built murderously fast sports cars using whatever tools they found lying around in the shed. Naturally, they had to look up the definitions of ‘luxury’ and ‘safety’ among others.

With a 4.1l V8 giving it ‘sufficient power’, this rather generously equipped conservative yet sleek looking British luxury coupe accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds while offering a smooth and enjoyable ride for a sophisticated gentleman with a refined taste. According to the brochure, that is.

Will the Capercaillie Limited soar and succeed or fail miserably and fall into obscurity?

This particular Escobar Edition comes with black leather seats. In case of sudden bloody mess - much easier cleaning!

Heh, I think I am the only one with a 75% profile tire :smiling_imp:

Try 80% at the front and 90% at the back

Having done test series on maxing out both prestige and comfort in the beta phase, let’s just say I wouldn’t want to drive that car :stuck_out_tongue:

Undervalue weight: Drivability (slight), sportiness (heavy), offroad (extremely heavy), utility (extremely heavy), practicality (moderate)

Average weight: Reliability, cost-to-own (amalgamation of total cost, svc cost, economy), safety – SIDE NOTE – for the purposes of this particular challenge, the car is assumed to be driving 10,000 miles per year, not 12,000.

High value weight: Comfort (Heavy), Prestige (Heavy)

Hey, just to clear things up, undervalue are categories that are not very important, average are average and high value meaning very important.

What confuses me is the slight to heavy modifer. For example Utility is noted as undervalue - very heavy, meaning its super unimportant? Or more important as opposed to the other undervalued categories?

Yes, offroad is very unimportant. drivability is only slightly unimportant. Comfort and prestige are very important. etc.

Thanks for the clear up! I over complicated it an became confused. Now to build a plush riding monster

Astana hopes that the “Defiant” will officially enter the competition soon.

Vic how close are you to being full? I’ve been away from home a few days but I might be able to knock one together later today.

Looks like I’ve still got 7 slots available.

This is probably the most ambitious YCB project thus far starting life as a tuner now it makes cars with FMU’s backing lets see how these newbies fare

The lights really do lend themselves for this purpose, don’t they. The design language there (and colour) is strikingly similar to my own entry :stuck_out_tongue:

However I dont think I have the same rear end treatment as anyone else… this is a fiberglass beats so there’s more free will style wise

boy am I glad I changed my rear end then, originally it would have looked a bit similar to that! (though on a different body). I switched because the original looked kind of Italian, but I wanted to base it more off a British look.

:O… I swear for my mother that I don’t have agents in Armada’s design studio…

Centauri’s entry is finally sent The paladin is a sister car to the Knight, for the more refined driver this 4 seat coupe features a soft compliant ride combined with easy driving characteristics and a luxurious interior. power comes from a advanced all aluminum straight 6 motor displacing a huge 409 cubic inches, though avaliable in several trims the range topper is the “Turbo II” which adds a water cooled turbo system providing 9.1 pounds of boost for some seriously impressive results, the Turbo II can clear 60 mph in 8.7 seconds and the quarter mile in 16.9 while still being (for america at the time) good on gas.

turbo i6? aren’t boosted engines bad for drivability?

They can tricky, but this one tames it well, but it’s only a lightweight stat anyway.
