Tragedy's Designs and Stuff™

Hello there, long time lurker here. Been playing on-and-off for a couple of years now, and somehow I've racked up more than 1200 hours (pretty much 100% sandbox, I tried the campaign once but got too confused :| ). So, with that much of my life wasted... invested, I figure I might as well share some of my better builds. This thread is where you'll find them.

Whether it be through sketching, 3d modeling, etc., I've been doing this kind of thing for close to a decade now, and over that time I've made quite a few parody brands (probably like 60-ish, and that's just cars). Again, since a lot of these are from before I started playing Automation, I'm aware that some of them have names similar or identical to brands created by others on the forum (great minds think alike, I guess). If anyone has a problem with that, I'm sure we can work something out :)

Abbreviated list of brands (just the important ones).

Company/Brand (Country), Subsidiaries, if any (Closest irl equivalent).

Javelin Motor Company (USA): Commando (Ram, but Ford), Spencer (Ford), Paluh (Mercury), Javelin (uhhh… basically if the Mustang was its own brand, but its more complicated than that), Washington (Lincoln).

Central Motors (USA): CMC (GMC), AMVEE (Hummer), Sentry (Saturn), DeValero (Chevrolet), Victor (Pontiac), Ransom (Oldsmobile), Braeburn (Buick), Olimpia (Cadillac).

Alliance Corporation (USA): Carson (Plymouth), Hunter (Dodge), Alliance (Chrysler), Jefferson (Imperial).

AMD (American Motoring Division) (USA): (AMC).

Emperor Motorcars Ltd. (Britain): (Jaguar/Bentley).

Cromwell (Britain): (Rolls-Royce).

Bayerisches Automobilunternehmen (Bavarian Automobile Company, according to Google Translate) (Germany): Bavaria (BMW).

Mercer Motorenwerke (Germany): Mercer (Mercedes).

Krueger Motorwagen Gruppe (Germany): Krueger (Volkswagen), Vulker (Audi), Weissach (Porsche).

Vespucci Automobili (Italy): Vespucci (Fiat), Cindicci (Lancia), Roma-Alfetta (Alfa-Romeo), Marchetti (Maserati), Michelotti (Ferrari).

Hinoda (Japan): Hinoda (Toyota), Lexon (Lexus).

Hachi (Japan): Hachi (Honda), Akira (Acura).

Seisan (Japan): Seisan (Nissan), Eterniti (Infiniti).

Mazdera (Japan): (Mazda).

Matsubara (Japan): (Subaru).

Mitsubatsu (Japan): (Mitsubishi).

Without further ado, here’s an interesting “what-if” that happens to be one of my more original designs, the 1979 Hunter Civilian (aka, what if the 2nd-Gen Challenger was, y’know, actually designed by Chrysler and wasn’t just a rebadged Mitsubishi):

1979 Hunter Civilian

Gen. 2, Alliance E-Chassis, 1979-198X (Lore undecided)
Equal parts personal luxury and pony car.

This is the kind of thing I strive to make, great work!

Wow this is amazing, not only do you know how do design with automation but your cars look madly period correct down to the headlight choice and marker lights, very epic 10/10

This is bloody excellent, looks like a real car you’d see in NY in the 1980s.

Welcome to the community! This looks really good, as others have said it looks super detailed and period-correct. Very excited to see more of your designs

Among the better malaise era US cars I have seen on this board TBH.

If the actual 2000s Hunter Citizen/Civilian from Burnout Paradise had a distant predecessor from the ‘80s, the result would be something like what you came up with… And it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine that generation’s immediate successor for the ‘90s carrying that legacy into the modern era.

Very rad!

Daaamn, that’s how you make an entrance  Really high quality styling and pics.

Hey all, thanks for the warm welcome!

I’ve got quite a few, but most of them don’t meet my current (and entirely arbitrary) Standards of Quality™, so they’d need a substantial bit of elbow grease before I’d consider them to be presentable.

However, from the approximately three that do meet my standards, I’ve got another (very unoriginal) Malaise Era Chrysler Alliance product for y’all…

Alliance San Francisco
Pre-Facelift ('79-'82), Alliance R-Chassis, 1979-1991.
Hey, that's my car!

My personal hooptie:
This is her good side.

I still hate CSS, this took waaaaaaaaay too long to format.

It’s definitely not perfect (to be fair, I did make it six months before I got my first R-Body NYer), but I guess that’s what makes it an Alliance San Francisco, not a Chrysler New Yorker.

(I am considering reworking the bumpers though, 'cause they kinda suck)

A hopped-up version of one of these in Driver: San Francisco would’ve been an unpleasant surprise for anyone brave or foolish to mess with John Tanner - even outside of the dream he had while he was still comatose!

Whaaaaaat, I made something that’s not a Mopar clone? Impossible.

I didn't have super high expectations for this, but I'm actually really happy with how it turned out.
