Also yes, I’d like to call for general calm during this particularly tense election period. And I’m saying that as a tree hugging carbon emission cutting social progressive lefty feminist who has made a number of explicitly anti-Trump remarks on this very forum. I’d like to clarify that this is an extraordinary situation in which the technically elected primary candidate for the party has seemingly broken down partisan lines which were in dire need of a good soul searching anyway, and that the candidate doesn’t seem to represent the party which doesn’t seem to represent the people.
Don’t despise people for exercising their right to a political opinion on the basis of their voting lines and their circumstances. Everybody’s got their reasons, whether they be for concerns partisan, constitutional, judicial or demographic. And despite what I think of Trump, I know there’s a significant proportion of people who feel hard done by the US as it stands now, and Trump is their best hope in a time of despair.
At least that’s how I’d look at it in as sympathetic a light as possible. If you’re voting Trump because of a literal hope that he’ll actually attempt to make Mexico build a wall and pay for it, and actually attempt to deport all Muslims etc., then I think our scope for conversation is somewhat limited
False. I think this forum handles itself well enough that we don’t need such a rule. We actually have people from all kinds of political persuasions from socialist and social progressive to libertarian to nationalist here and we haven’t had any shit fighting on the forum itself, which is remarkable.
I hear the IRC chat is another matter but that’s cowboy territory bucko
