The logic behind the Luce is quite sound - theyâre targeting the Chinese market, and playing the heritage card. It is, however, unfathomable that it shares its name with a car that Mazda stopped making over 30 years ago (and referred to as the 929 overseas - later generations were called the Sentia in Japan):
In fact, if I were given a choice between either Luce, Iâd take the Mazda any time. The simple 5-spoke wheel design is one bit about it that I like, though - and it should be offered on the rest of the range going forward.

Yeah, good luck with conquering the Chinese market with a car that maybe looks like the local competition, and has performance like local competition, but is several times more expensive. Oh, and then thereâs the trend of falling sales of all the non-Chinese brands in ChinaâŚ
To me the Luce seems like a project that seemed profitable when it was signed off, then the perspectives went worse as (long) development went on, but it was released nonetheless, to try to regain some of the sunk money.
And Iâd take the Ferrari, sell it, and then buy a Maserati Quattroporte V and a damn apartment. And Iâd still have money left for fueling that Ferrari-built V8âŚ

I do like the Luceâs front end quite a bit, especially how thereâs a completely smooth flow of body from the front over the windshield, thatâs disguised by the flying bridge that still gives the front end a normal height design.
The interior is also classy and I like that itâs not yet another super crossover. Unfortunately the rear end proportions and the interpretation of round Ferrari tail lamps doesnât really work, but I donât quite understand why thereâs so much bigger of a hullabaloo about this one than the above Mercedes, for example. It looks bland and a bit lumpy but not like, horridly offensive to me.
But maybe thatâs just because not looking like a Ferrari is a good thing for me and I absolutely despise Ferrari as a brand, soooooo I guess I donât have any sentimental value this could ruin

That part I hate to admit is very cool lol
At 1/10th the price and with a Lancia or Alfa badge it would be a compelling product. But not as a Ferrari and one thatâs even more expensive than the Purosangue. Also to consider is that the way Ferrari works, this model should only be available to those who already have bought at least one cheaper model brand newâŚ

I concur with the wider sentiment, Itâs a good car, but a bad Ferrari.
Iâve played around with the design using AI and honestly found it easer to make the design fit many different brands, Dacia, Dodge, etc than to make it into a compelling sporty easily recognizable Ferrari

Itâs not a bad looking car by any means. But it looks like a Chinese EV made in collaboration with a smartphone manufacturer youâve never even heard.
Also it costs $640,000 lol

I like the WiLL VI. Itâs got itâs charm, but I also understand why the side profile wouldnât be to someoneâs taste.

The Will Cypha is not a pretty car by any standard, but I like it. It has that turn of the millennium concept car look, the kind that looks like it came from a promising future we wonât get to see.
