AL Autos Booth (BIAE 2018) (Day 1)

Hello one and all and welcome to the AL Autos Booth here at the 2018 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition! This is a special day for AL Autos as we kick off the releases of our newly established lineup (The official release schedule for the upcoming Auto Show releases can be found here on our official forum post). Here at Beijing, we will be showing you 2 models to kick off our newly established lineup designed with newly acquired software which gave us a little more capabilities with regards to our designs. Without further ado, lets get this show on the road, shall we?

2018 AL Autos Irev (Trims on Display: RGLE, RGXLE, RGS, and RGRS)

The Body

The Irev is sporting an aggressive front fascia that we designed to emphasize that this model is meant to be a joy to drive: appropriately angled, simple, yet sporty headlamps/DRL combo, a fitting nose grille which fits right in between the DRLS, and sporty mouth grilles and vents. Moving on to the rear end, the hatch is graced with elegant yet sporty looking tail lamps and exhaust tips. Between the many trims, there’s not much difference besides some accent changes. The 4 trims of the Irev weigh in anywhere from 3260 lbs (1479 kgs) to 3866 lbs (1754 kgs) depending on equipment and trim selections.

The Underpinnings

The Irev has a choice of 3 drivetrains:

Available on the RGLE and RGXLE trims is a 2.0 L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 151.8 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque sent to the front wheels and mated to a 6 Speed Automatic transmission + Geared LSD.

Available on the RGS trim is a turbocharged version of the same 2.0 L Turbocharged 4-cylidner engine producing 216.4 HP and 201 lb-ft of torque sent to the front wheels and mated to a 6 Speed Manual Transmission + Geared LSD.

Finally, available on the RGRS trim is a 2.3 L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 338.3 HP and 254 lb-ft of torque sent to all 4 wheels (40F/60R) and mated to a 6 Speed Manual Transmission + Electric LSD.

To help the Irev put its power down, the RGLE and RGXLE trims have medium compound tires and the RGS and RGRS trims have sports compound tires.

To help the Irev come to a stop, the RGLE, RGXLE, and RGS trims have specially tuned disc brakes. The RGRS trim has specially tuned vented disc brakes.

Finally, to absorb the bumps, all the trims of the Irev have Double Wishbone and Multilink suspension systems specially tuned for each of the trims.

All of these systems help the Irev perform very well on the Top Gear Test Track:

RGLE @ 1:36.3

RGXLE @ 1:36.9

RGS @ 1:27.8

RGRS @ 1:23.1

The Technology + Safety

The Irev features some nifty technological features to help make your drive a more comfortable experience. The RGXLE, RGS, and RGRS trims come with AL-Infotainment complete with a push to talk voice command system, satellite navigation w/ real time traffic, AM/FM/USB radio, and AL’s WorldConnect system which allows the user to make reservations at hotels and restaurants and check the weather at any location. In addition, WorldConnect now also has a function in accident response/prevention system, standard on all trims. The prevention side of this system includes rapid flashing hazards, automatic braking assist (not available on RGS and RGRS), blind spot monitoring, cross traffic alerts, and door opening warnings in case of incoming traffic that may endanger the passenger exiting the vehicle. The response side of this system activates in the case of airbag deployment/substantial impact: Hazzard lights are turned on, multiple airbags are deployed, engine is on standby and can turn on when start button is held for 5 seconds, brakes are applied, and WorldConnect automatically contacts emergency services.
