Powered by a 167hp 2.9L V6, mated to a 4-speed automatic, standard all-wheel drive, seating for 5 and 22mpg combined, the Dominus is a family car for all seasons. Seen here is the upscale EX trim, with a more luxurious interior, a special front grille design and a sportier suspension set-up. The Dominus also has innovative motorized sliding rear doors, allowing for improved rear seat access. We would not say that we regret making the all new for 1988 IP Icarus. Not at all, we are proud of our work, but for our own sake, we could have made lots of things differently.
As an example, our V6 has more valves than a famous german competitor has in their V8. Good for you - it makes it both more powerful AND more efficient. Bad for us - it means that the engine is more complicated and expensive to produce. And you don’t have to shift gears by yourself - our automatic transmission is controlled by its own microcomputer. Good for you, bad for us. Leather interior, air conditioning, anti lock brakes, power steering, power windows, central locking, a drivers side air bag and alloy wheels are all standard. Good for you, bad for us.
What’s not included in the price is brand snobbery. Good for you, because it means you don’t have to pay a hefty premium for a feature that actually are of no use. Bad for us.
If we included it, we could really earn a lot of money.
