There has been some clearance in my schedule so I’ll post new challenge in next few days if that’s OK.
That’d be awesome!!!
Dam i knew i should’ve included a hefty bribe
But alas, it was better than the one he had, and one of the fastest, and if his servants gets it, better for them
Thanx @riso for a hilarious challenge and gratz to @AirJordan for making a awesome car as usual
Ok here it goes:
KOH6 - KING OF THE SAND HILL
You know how some folks are racing their SUVs up them dunes? Well so are we but with a twist (and some rules). Twist is, that is your only car, so it must be sort of reliable and can take you back home and next morning your kinds to school (who’s the coolest dad ha). Wich means there must be some sort of compromise.
Sooo… Muhamad Uwuwewauaouwevawu (so racist) is trying to find the best garage to build him an ultimate truck
Rules:
- 2016 SUV or Pick up (no ute or van)
- wheelbase 2.5m+
- street legal-ish looks would be fine
- race intakes because we looove sand in our turbos
- it must be turbo because look at those cars!
- ultimate fuel is given but hey, if you want to run crap, do it
- no cat reqired and no muffler allowed (come on other would think it’s a joke if it would be quiet)
- no sequential trannies
- offroad tyres
- minimum cooling
- 5 or more seats
- power steering only! (yes due to nature of sand racing, everything else must goooo)
- $25k
Track (thanks to @ramthecowy ):
Quarter mile hillclimb.zip (1.0 MB)
For converting economy (round it to one decimal => 1.65=1.7)
My quick attempt at koh6 is Smooth R-TG
Deadline: 20.2.2017 at 16:00 Central European Time
The fact that you used commas in the spreadsheet really confused me for a second until I realised that in some places commas and periods swap places.
If we could put custom decals on our cars, I would build something and then sent it to you with this on the side:
sorry for the cringe, but I had to
Is the $25k budget as per the market tab (So, $25k (+0%)) or is it on the overview tab?
Market at 0%
Can it actually climb the track? Have you tested?
Well, i tried anyway
I just saw an error in the spreadsheet bit, it should be 4,4 km/l, not 3,4, so another 2 pts there
The Scarab Boulder incoming
So far two entries…
I’m building something for this!
Hey guys, if you haven’t seen it already I posted the car I used for KOTH1 on my company thread: Adenine Automotive [1978 Vindicator]
I made some tweaks for the competition of course, but if you were trying to figure out what body I used… now you know
KOH6 results:
In this week head to head we have very different approaches to mr. Uwuwewauaouwevawus dilema.
In (always) blue corner we have @HighOctaneLove’s creation Bogliq Haulage AE. This is big, heavy beast at more than 2 tons. Low boost 8L engine produces more than 850hp. Compine that with 4WD and you get eternal tyre shredder if you forgot to engage front drive. It is however very spacious, posses all the standard equipment you need and cheap as well.
In (this time) also blue corner we have @gridghost’s creation Scarab Boulder. Weighing one buffalo less this is a real racer. 5L V8 runs on high boost and chokes out hypercar-killing 1112hp. Inside is seats only and flat to the floor it looks like gas tank is leaking fuel. With almost all the stats lower than Halulage it relies on superb 1/4 mile time ti win the game.
Showdown:
Congrats to @HighOctaneLove, you are now the king of the hill!
with that being said, I really don’t know is there’s a point of continuing koh with such low interest
Yay!!! A totally unexpected win for me!!!
Since I have no idea for a competition I’ll leave this open for @gridghost to post one up or we can let the KotH series take a break…
Gratz to @HighOctaneLove for making a somewhat more sensible car and thnx to @AirJordan for hosting this round. i think i might have something fitting for another round, but maybe we should wait a couple of days for the other challenges to go through. I think it might have been one too many challenges going on at the same time for people to prepare for.
I tried to make my car like it was a factory Bogliq product but I feel your car was much more impressive, gridghost!
Still, a win’s a win and I don’t win often enough to turn this one down!
What happened to this? Would love to have it back!
Yeah its a shame its gone much like the APL. Its just that there are other more popular challenges that are quite similar i guess.
