Silver-York Posting

#1

Silver-York is my main brand
It’s a true Gasmean brand, founded in 1904.

Here I will share pictures of Silver-York models including lore, model information, history etc.

Silver-York is my main project with cars that are world class. Luxury is Silver-Yorks main aim and they have delivered it for years. Being a company to produce cars that set standards… From their styling, ride style, to introducing new technology. Silver-York has lead the way for years.

The full 1965 Silver-York lineup consists of:*
The Sovereign lineup: (Flagship standard model)
Sovereign Sedan
Sovereign Hard top 2 door
Sovereign Brougham Sedan
Sovereign Coupe
Sovereign Brougham and coupe both came standard with the 470CI engine

The Precinct lineup: (Silver-Yorks entry coupe model)
Precinct
Precinct Convertible
Precinct SS
The Precinct range came with Silver-York’s 445CI engine as standard however, the SS which was Silver-York’s attempt at a muscle car uses the 470CI found in the Sovereign Brougham and Sovereign Coupe

And finally the Silver-York 49 series.
Silver-Yorks flagship model, coming in as a standard sedan and as an extended in house made extended limo

*This lineup is subject to change

Lets post a car hey?

Here’s Silver-York’s flagship 1965 car, the Silver-York Sovereign Coupe. A true driving experience, the most driver orientated car ever made by Silver-York yet, a true personal luxury car.
Powered by a brand new redesigned 7.7L V8 with over 350HP, the 65 Sovereign is both incredibly luxurious and fast with 0-60 times in the sub 9 second zone something to definitely boast about.

The 1965 Sovereign Coupe was the first production model Silver-York to ever offer disk front brakes, a game changing technology that allowed the Sovereign Coupe to have a far shorter braking distance than any of the competition. This was THE luxury car of 1965, being a car people aspired to drive.

Taken from advertising material:
‘The 1965 Silver-York Sovereign is the most dramatically new car series in the world. Its remarkable styling - elegant, majestic, opulent and of course, as impressive as never before-establishes this new car instantly as not just a Silver-York great, but a Gasmean great! Not only is it a experience to look at its astonishing to drive. A brand new and revolutionary body on frame construction paired with a brilliant and impressive suspension system gives the Silver-York Sovereign series an incredible drive-bring levelness and an incredible level of steadiness never before seen in the car industry. Silver-York’s new and redesigned interior is both more spacious and luxurious like never before seen in the car industry. It’s a marvel! Whether a Silver-York owner or a Silver-York Admirer-you will find the contents of this manual to be the most distinctive in Silver-York history’

Silver-York… Why have less?

This is definitely one of the best-looking 60s full-size land yachts I’ve seen so far. It definitely deserves to be offered in two other body styles: a two-door coupe and a four-door sedan.

@abg7 Well… Or there are is a 2 door and both a sedan and Brougham available. I will post pictures.
However only the Brougham and coupe come with the 7.7L and the standard sedan and hard top 2 door come with a 7.3L.
I will slowly get round to posting these.

A really nice mid sixties American full-size! It’s very promising start for Silver-York - I’m curious to see other models of this company!

#6

@RedRiot Well… the back catalogue is very full. 4 of Silver-York’s models have been put into the auction. But we’ve got models from 49-85 atm.

Current Work In Progress:
The 1963 Silver-York Sovereign series. Little teaser

Another model from the 1965 Sovereign range
The 1965 Sovereign sedan, the ‘base’ spec model of the range.
The 1965 Sovereign Sedan is still a very high-class model, coming from the flagship standard line, sitting below the Series 49 this sedan offers everything you expect from a Silver-York. Using the same design language as the Silver-York Sovereign Coupe this car is still a marvel, with its Luxurious interior, Big bench seats, 445CI engine as standard which could be upgraded to the 470 (7.7L) found in the Sovereign Coupe.

This presentation piece by Silver-York shows the 1965 Hard roof side-profiles excluding the 49 Series.

Top left we have the Sovereign Sedan,
Next to it is the Sovereign Brougham,
Middle left we have The the Sovereign Hard top 2DR,
With the Sovereign Coupe sat next to it,
Finally on the bottom left we have the Precinct Hard top
With the Precinct SS

What’s your favourite 65 Side profile?
And which colour model is your favourite from the 65 range on display?
