I’m pretty sure we already have wheels in the game that are the GT40 wheels
EDIT:
Yeah, these are basically identical to the GT40 wheels. I’d void them tbh, there’s no point having 2 boderline the same wheels
and 6 is more than 7

You are correct, We learned about the existence of those shortly after those results were announced. So to all who voted for no. the #14 wheel, I have good news and bad news:
The Bad, Your votes will be void
The Good, The wheel is already in-game It even has the same configurable color set.
As for those numbers, there’s some human error involved there, while posting, I usually end up copying the previous post for convenience, so sometimes something will slip past the radar. I’ll be sure to be extra thorough for the next post and survey.
PROGRESS UPDATE
There’s not a whole lot to report at the moment, so I’ll just get right onto the survey standings.

What file format does the 3D model need to be in? Also roughly how many polygons do you commit in a wheel, or is mostly alpha textures? Do you need a normal, or a bump?
Making rims could be fun, and I’m trying to use the degree I paid for. These would be some customs of mine, or I may be able to help the project if you are interested.
https://automation.gamepedia.com/Rim_Mods
The wiki has 3DS Max instructions, the video Blender instructions. The wiki is still needed for a lot of the specifications and the UE4 side of things.
Thanks for showing interest in our project, at the moment though, we’re still able to handle the creating of content with just a single concent creator. We’d love to see what kind of custom wheels you’ll be making though, and hope to see them on the workshop in the future
PROGRESS UPDATE
Since there were no new votes for 24 hours, the survey link has been closed and the results have been gathered.

THE OTHER QUESTIONS
During this months survey, you got the opportunity to vote on what you’d like to see more of in future community rim pack rounds. These results, along with the optional feedback question will be handled later this week in a different post.
THE NEXT SURVEY
Since I was anticipating for this survey to run a little longer, It will be a while before the next one goes up. It will probably go live halfway through October.
This concludes the progress update
PROGRESS UPDATE
Work has been started on the September Community Rim Pack, the first wheels have been completed, and we’re currently working on compiling a list of wheels that will be featured in the next survey as well. First things first, I want to get over the additional poll answers that were given in the October survey:
ADDITIONAL POLL RESULTS (FROM THE OCTOBER SURVEY)
In the previous survey, you had the option to vote on what kind of content will be in the future surveys. I’d like to dedicate this post to the results of these questions:
Q: What era would you like to see more of?
Conclusion: The majority has voted for more modern wheels, as well as the 70s being a favorite classic era.
A: We understand that people want to see more modern wheels, and the next pack (October) is almost entirely made up of modern wheels to meet this demand. To keep things fair, we will not have the most-voted for option in the next survey, but it will return in the round after that. We have added 2 new 10s options, and a new 00s and 70s option in each of the survey categories (excluding classic) to further meet the demand.
Q: And which region?
Conclusion: European manufacturers are a community favorite by a reasonable margin.
A: We’re going to look into getting more European steel wheel/hubcap/rim selections, we’ll be picking popular suggestions from the suggestion thread with these regions in mind and when we look for more additions ourselves these regions will be looked into first. For the November survey, we’ve added wheels from Alfa Romeo, Audi and Citroën.
Q: And do you prefer aftermarket or original equipment wheels?
Conclusion: OEM-style wheels are preferred by the majority of the community.
A: We will be adding mainly OEM wheels to our future surveys, but a small portion of it will remain aftermarket that would double as potential OEM-style wheels. Expect more Clockwise (CWS) branded wheels as well as well as possible additional aftermarket brands.
We’re almost done with putting the selection of wheels together, we’ve already picked a few of the most-liked suggestions in the suggestion thread. So don’t forget to vote for them when the next survey goes live.
COMMUNITY FEEDBACK
Along with the 3 choice-based questions listed above, I also added a text field in which you could write feedback, suggestions and commentary, 23 people have responded and I’ll go over all the responses (yes, all 23) below:
#BringBackTextfieldsYou[CENSORED]
8/24/2019 10:17 PM
A: No, the tickbox questions are going to be the new format from now on. It is a lot easier to count votes as most of it is done automatically.
Hello
8/24/2019 10:19 PM
A: Hello
Tell Boost if a 3-spoke wheel wins! Yours truly, Keikyuwun
8/24/2019 10:20 PM
A: As requested by @Keikyun, @BoostandEthanol the next wheel pack will have Peugeot Tri-spokes
Add Superchargers
8/24/2019 10:23 PM
A: While I’d love to do this for you, this unfortunately is a community project. None of us are gamedevs, so we can’t add this for you, however, I can assure you the devs are hard at work on bringing us these magical go-fast contraptions.
Drift was here
8/24/2019 10:27 PM
A: Hello Drift o/
ok i voted u happy
8/24/2019 10:28 PM
A: Very.
Please just remove the wheels which haven’t gotten attention from the start and choose more from the forums.
8/24/2019 10:42 PM
A: Almost all of the new wheels for the next survey are picked from the suggestion thread, and a few old selections are being removed, because I’ve comissioned them as extra additions to the september wheel pack. With our current system, you can expect 3 new wheels for each category (except off-road) every month. We hope to Increase this as we get more financial backers for the project.
Could use some thick-spoke wheels for plain 2000’s sedans.
8/24/2019 10:51 PM
A: Some have been added to the survey, be sure to vote on them if you want them, or if you don’t like the current selection, drop new suggestions in the suggestion thread
MAEK MORE 40S RIMS
8/24/2019 10:53 PM
A: Yes, but it would be even better if you put some in the suggestion thread, so that we know what kind of “40s rims” you want.
thanks for your contribution
8/24/2019 10:58 PM
A: Thank you for the positive feedback
Please check for rims that are already available as a mod, like | Classic | Number 13 and | Off-road | Number 12.
8/24/2019 11:39 PM
A: The wheels in question (image), while similar to stuff that’s been added, they are different enough to be considered as new additions. It probably doesn’t help that all wheels in the survey are shown roughly at the same size, for example, a design that’s originally 15 inches will look very different when scaled to 20 inches than a wheel design that is originally 20 inches.
Not related to rims, but make engine sounds more diverse depending on the components
8/25/2019 12:08 AM
A: Again, something we can’t do
Great community initiative to add more game content, well done!
8/25/2019 12:35 AM
A: Thank you, we aim to please and add more content to this great design tool for fictional vehicles
R32 GTR rims
8/25/2019 4:09 AM
A: Check the top post for a link to our suggestion thread
More modern stuff.
8/25/2019 4:09 AM
A: It’s being worked on as I’m writing this.
Stay awesome my dude
8/25/2019 4:48 AM
A: Likewise
I can’t believe i’m saying this, but more modern super car stuff plx
8/25/2019 6:50 AM
A: More modern super car stuff is being added in future surveys, we’ve added Audi R8 wheels in the next one, and hope to find more reference material so that we can have more options in the future, if you want to see anything in specific, be sure to post it into our suggestion thread.
Some of the rims/hubcaps showed here might be seen as too close to those already featured in Automation
8/25/2019 6:58 AM
A: We’ll be extra careful in checking new additions to the survey, but mistakes can still happen, if you think something is similar to what’s already ingame, simply don’t vote on it, and leave a comment in the discord or in this thread and we’ll look into it.
Keep up the good work!
8/25/2019 10:39 AM
A: Thank you
citroen rims
8/25/2019 2:13 PM
A: They exist, and we’ve also added a few french options in our next survey
Awesome!
8/25/2019 2:28 PM
A: You’re awesome as well
Some continental tire kit fixtures using any 40s or 50s rim designs would be really cool.
8/25/2019 4:38 PM
A: I’m not sure how we’ll do this, we’d need access to the current tire textures to make the wheels look good, but it’s something we could look into if we decide to expand into Fixture packs
Hope you eliminate rims that look too similar to previous winners so the packs can have variety. Thank you, appreciate all you have done for the automation community.
8/27/2019 3:38 AM
A: As I’ve already to an earlier comment, there will be a small new selection of wheels each survey, and some stuff that isn’t voted on by the community may end up getting added to the packs by one of the commissioners. The more financial backers we’re able to get, the easier it will be for us to cover costs of the wheels so that more wheels can be picked per pack, allowing for more new wheels every round.
And thank you for your feedback, it is appreciated
SNEAK PEEK
No Progress update would be complete without a preview of what’s to come, so here’s a few pictures of new wheels that will be featured in the September edition of the Community Rim Pack:
Modern 5-spokes (Shown with the secondary color active, will come with a CWS and a blank center cap)
RELEASE DATE CHANGES
There will be a slight delay in the release of this rim pack (Due to a certain massive 16-variant body mod) but we’re still aiming for a September release date, this will be the biggest rim pack yet.
The new poll for the November edition of the Community Rim Pack is currently in the works, and will be released on the 1st of October.
This concludes the progress update
Airplane?
Anyway, this is awesome. I’m so glad you’ve taken the responsibility of doing all this for the community, you’ve done a lot recently and im really happy that you did that. Can’t wait for some modern things
SAAB.
There is a whole range of very stylish broad tri-spoke wheels factory mounted on SAAB’s.
PROGRESS UPDATE
Progress on the September Community Rim Pack is going well, Venom has completed 4 More wheels and is currently working on the 9th one in the pack, we’ve also launched the November Survey which will stay up for at least the 1st of October, after which it will be taken down if no new votes have been placed in 24 hours.
All the new wheels have been picked, there are 18 new options to choose from, a large portion coming from our Community Rim Pack suggestion thread remember to vote for your favorites, read the questions carefully, and may the best wheel win
SNEAK PEEK
Here’s another look at the great content venom has been cooking up for us, as I said earlier, this will be the biggest rim pack yet, with almost 20 new wheels to choose from, let’s see what we’ve got:
Another set of modern 5-spokes, this time a very futuristic design with W-shaped spokes.
This concludes the progress update
PROGRESS UPDATE
The Poll has been up for 3 hours so far, and we’ve gathered 20 votes, roughly 1/3rd of the amount of votes we’ve had in the last round. I’ve sorted out all the votes and gathered the preliminary results for the November Survey. These are in no way final, as the poll will stay up untill the 1st of october, and past that date it will stay up as long as a new vote is gathered within 24 hours of the last one.

This concludes the progress update
when I saw the previous progress update, it made me want to vote for the Ford F-150 offroad rims, so its because of me and someone else that its ahead lol
If the Granada wheel makes it, i don´t have to build it
One thing you should think about, I think it would be better if you could download every single wheel, instead of a whole package. Because if more and more wheels are added, you have to scroll a lot and one or the other wheel does not fit my taste and I do not use it. If you only download the one that you like, it stays a bit clearer.
Its a double edged sword though, then everyone has 10s of mods to track down instead of a few (and the workshop is already amassing quite a bit of mods). It gets especially hairy with forum challenges etc. Its more work to cook and test each rim individually too.
Even if you dislike a wheel it still has its purposes. Certain styles require specific rims and maybe that one you ignored you now have to go back through the workshop to find. The workshop is nearing 300 (working) mods and it doesn’t need 50 different rims to add to that.
Perhaps we can find a middle ground and release them in era-specific packs once we start getting a lot of them. I’m not sure how difficult it would be, but something like a “50s pack”, “70s Pack” etc. would maybe be a good solution.
It’s just a thought, if at some point 500 and more rims are in the game, it will be tedious with the search. Apart from that, one or the other pc should also go on his knees.
The workshop has a pretty good preselection function to find what you are looking for in the game that is unfortunately not possible with rims.
PROGRESS UPDATE
We’re up to over 50 votes now, there’s a lot of close battles going on for the final spots in some of the categories. If you know someone who plays automation and would like to see any of these wheels, be sure to share the survey with them
