TOKYO: Ursula AG has officially announced it’s latest iteration of the E-series supercars under it’s Ursula RennSport division, the new Ursula E2 in Tokyo this week. The E2 is Ursula’s latest supercar offering, and with the plethora of new tech included, the E2 is certainly the performance icon for the next decade.

The all-new Ursula E2 is now officially announced in this show on Tokyo. It serves as the replacement of the E1 supercar, which was launched as a limited run of 400 units from 2010 to 2015. Like the E1, it was built from the ground up with no relations to any Ursula model.

The E1’s turbo boxer-6 engine is now officially replaced by a biofuel-powered 3.6 V8 twin-turbo producing 655 hp. Despite the larger size, it’s more lighter with the extensive use of high-tech materials and production process. Each engine was handbuilt by master craftsmen to ensure the quality and consistency of the vehicle.
Whilst the new power unit has a small power deficit that led to a much modest 655 HP, compared to the boxer-6’s much impressive 755 HP, the car is still no slouch either. With a lighter carbon fiber shell and wheels, more aerodynamic design, and the use of electric motors made it a better performer compared to the E1. A higher top speed, much quicker 0-60 times and a more agile driving experience is the result of this improvement.

The E2 is also equipped with the advanced eDrive direct-drive transmission. Unlike conventional transmission units, it employs a direct drive mechanism to power the electric motors around all 4 wheels, creating an unique setup which works on any situations. At lower speeds, the electric motors does it’s job, but in speeds above 60 km/h the V8 will take over the job to help the vehicle gain faster top speeds.
Despite the advanced setup, the E2 is 20% lighter than the E1, and with the new technology and smart placement the E2 allows for a much lower center in gravity, improving vehicle handling in the process.

Luxury is always a feature on all Ursulas, and this is no execption. The interior is created for the driver in mind, with lighter and more premium materials, more comfortable seats, AMD Ryzen-powered Ursula Command Center, and a specially designed high-end sound system by Sennheiser creates an unique experience to the drive itself. It’s a light car, but it’s not light on features.

Like the E1 that preceding it, the E2 is also a limited production vehicle as well, with 400 units confirmed to be produced in Ursula’s advanced Mannheim factory. With that said, each vehicle can be tailored to user’s specifications by special order. Prices will be confirmed later and all sales will go live on spring 2020.
